Malaafaiy in Dhivehi word means "mermaid". This poolside restaurant has breathtaking views of the ocean. The venue provides buffet-style breakfasts, lunches, and dinners with chefs manning live cooking stations to tailor your meal to your taste.

This beautiful venue is located within Medhufushi’s pyramid-shaped over-water pavilion. Here you can enjoy a variety of a la carte specialties, wine, and other beverages.
Vilu Bar
Under the lofty roof of the over-water pyramid, Vilu Bar offers a range of premium spirits, cocktails, wine, and beer as well as a snack menu. There are also billiards, darts, and a library area. Special events such as crab racing and traditional Maldivian ‘bodu beru’ drumming also take place here.

  • Seaplane transfers are closely aligned with guests’ international flights. However, currently, seaplanes are forbidden to fly between 18.00hrs – 06.00hrs and therefore any guests arriving after 16.00 hrs will need to overnight in the airport hotel or in Male’.
  • The seaplanes have a maximum of 20kg per person luggage restriction – an excess luggage fee of US$ 5.00 per kilogram may be charged and is payable directly to Trans Maldivian Airways at check-in.
  • The carrier does not guarantee to transport baggage on the same flight as the passengers due to weight restrictions
  • For clients departing the resort where no transfer is available due to force majeure, the resort will endeavor its best to try to find alternative air/sea transportation in order to transfer guests to Male, depending on prevailing weather conditions. In the event that this is not possible, the resort will provide an additional night/stay at the resort subject to availability but a supplement of US$56 per person per night will be charged directly from the guests, which includes accommodation, breakfast, taxes, and service charge.
  • Guests should pay this amount directly to the resort. In the event that a guest room is not available the resort reserves the right to provide an executive room, which is similar to a superior room, however irrespective of accommodation provided during force Majeure supplement of US$56 per person per night will be charged. It will be the responsibility of the Tour Operator/Agent and or guests to contact the airline for arrangements of alternative flights back to the client’s country of origin.
  • Any additional charges levied by the airline will be the responsibility of the guest or agents. The resort will not be responsible for any airline charges levied by the airlines for change of flight.

The property was good however, no recreational activities as such which you generally find in resorts!! If someone doesn’t want to do water activities then pool table is the only option for that person!! I would recommend more options should be there! The staff was quite polite barring 1-2 as they had communication barrier and it was hard to deal with them! Commute is the biggest challenge as we had no clue that it’s 2 hrs 40 mins away in a speedboat and boyyyy that ride took all the energy from our body!! We weren’t tired in the whole trip, the way this speedboat made us feel!! Speedboat should not be an option for this resort at all! They should only provide sea plane! Thankfully we inquired at the reception about the sea plane 72 hrs prior and got lucky to get an upgrade for $135 per person! I personally felt there is some issue in communication from the resort’s side as just like us, there was another couple mentioned the same that they had no clue about the sea plane option! In our case, hotel manager said it was a miscommunication from our travel agent’s side but how come the same incident with the other couple too! Anyway anyone in his/her right state of mind would never go there in a speedboat (unless not informed). The breakfast, lunch n dinner timings were quite early and with a very less duration! I understand there are lot of people to cater but still it was a bit inconvenient! Now coming to the biggest challenge we faced during this trip was food despite of the fact we are non vegetarian! The chef is NOT AT ALL putting in any efforts while preparing the food! Everything had a weird smell.. even the breads! We literally skipped all the meals apart from breakfast ( wherein we had bread omelette n fruits all the days), eventhough it was an all inclusive package and opted for ala-carte! I mean not only the options were very limited but they were tasteless too! If anyone wants to start hating cakes then you should eat tea cakes there NGL! It was my partner’s birthday and the receptionist was asking him only about the decoration and cake!! Spoiled the surprise but anyway! Overall the stay was good because the place was beautiful and dreamy and rooms were extremely clean and spacious ! Food and commute from airport to resort were the only bad experiences throughout the trip, rest was fine! At the time of checkout, we got to know that they don’t accept Amex which was quite surprising and hence we had to use Visa! Also wanted to highlight that Ali(care taker of water villa) was extremely good!

Medhufushi was a nice experience we stayed there for 5 nights overall experience was good only food is something I won't recommend as a Vegetarian it was not up to date at all only dal n rice was you can have it as a vegetarian. I would like to recommend Ali from Housekeeping in water Vila and Hashim from food service they both were best.

Travel time is too far from male airport that's only the drawback, and suites only for honeymoon couples, but water is not at all worth for 5 Dollars, it should be made as complementary!

One of the most relaxing places we stayed from Dec 4 till Dec 8. I lost my wedding ring in the pool and this awesome staff member named Hassan was kind enough to dive in and get it back for me. I owe him so much. Did not have any cash on me but writing this review so that his employers would notice his efforts and he moves up in his job. God bless him

I'd like to begin by expressing my exceptional diving experience with Manu and Ved, which was truly extraordinary. It felt like entering a completely different world altogether. The resort was complemented by the presence of cheerful and talkative individuals such as Yasas, Siva, Gaurav, Mhaiaa, and, of course, Masheq, the dolphin enthusiast with an impressive ability to spot dolphins from afar. Last but not least, Jagan, a charming individual at the reception, provided impeccable service.

Pristine beauty with peaceful surroundings. Well curated villas, with splendid view of ocean from the deck of water villas. Staff is courteous and pleasant. Resort is well connected with Sea plane & speed boat, with prompt services. Special mention for staff taking care of villas ( Shoel) and offering meals at restaurant (Bayu). Gaurav (Booking Manager) and managerial staff at reception were very supportive and willing to assist at all times. Stay at Medhufushi was awesome with great memories itched for ever. Thank you for making our stay comfortable & memorable.

I went to the resort on my first wedding anniversary with my husband. My choice turned out to be really great. 😊 The management and staffs were so polite and helpful. They helped me plan everything. The food was absolutely delicious. We get a lot of cuisine in the buffet and vegeterian options were also there. ♥️♥️ A special thanks to Yasas Irdhi for helping me plan the surprise. ☺️☺️It was really sweet of him helping me to setup the sunset photoshoot, dinner setup and my room decoration, which my husband really liked. Everything turned out to be just perfect. 😘 Only one suggestion to the management, if they can increase the frequency of speedboats and the timings that would make the resort hospitality best. 😊 and more customer oriented. I would recommend the resort to anyone and everyone who asks me for feedback. Thank you once again team Medhufushi and Yasas for making the anniversary trip memorable. 🥰🥰

Excellent stay overall. The excursions were fantastic. Maiaa was with us on all the tours and was very helpful. Rooms were super clean and the staff did an excellent job in making our stay comfortable. Veera, the waiter was super nice and remembered our likes every day. Served us with a smile always Mr Yasas and Mr Gaurab will super helpful from the start to the checkout. Many thanks to them

Well coming stag including Mr yasas & one more girl r very friendly and guided nicely.overall 2 nighs water villa,2 nights beach villa was amazing.but during check out lot if miscommunication with reception staff happened. It was 5.00am and heavy raining .they have not provided umbrella in our room.I called reception and asked for umbrella to come to reception for check out. Reception guy didn't receive call for 3 times .4th time he picked call and asked me to wait for 5 min .but 5.40 also he didn't provide umbrella and replied that he can not provide umbrella .we came to reception in rain and went in hurry to have breakfast. But breakfast was not ready and speed boat was supposed to depart at6.00am.then they provided bread and jam as breakfast. Overall experience was nice except for checkout incident at reception.
