Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives has recently commenced operations, with certain areas still undergoing construction. The landscaping is currently in development, and while the trees do not yet provide ample shade, the resort is actively working to enhance the greenery by planting additional trees to create more shaded areas for guests. The accommodations are of exceptional quality, making the resort not only suitable for families with children and an ideal destination for couples.
Of course, we thoroughly enjoyed diving activities during our stay. We spent a significant amount of time snorkeling and were amazed by the vibrant marine life beneath our villa. We encountered a huge stingray, a moray eel, a pufferfish, and numerous other fish species. The underwater experience was truly captivating and added a special touch to our stay at Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives.
Regarding Centara The 1 membership, the resort's newness and the recent implementation of the membership system have led to insufficient communication about the benefits associated with the membership tier. It is recommended that Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives enhance communication with Elite members to ensure they are fully informed and able to maximize the benefits to which they are entitled.
The hotel staff were exceptionally kind and welcoming. Upon arrival, Zuura greeted us with a refreshing welcome drink, greatly appreciated, and instantly revitalized us. Zuura then drove us to our room via buggy, providing helpful information about resort accommodations. Additionally, we were efficiently checked in within the comfort of our room, making the entire process seamless and convenient.
During our dinner, we chose to have our first meal at Suan Bua Restaurant, a Thai dining establishment. Naturally, it made us think of home — Bangkok, Thailand. Before arriving here, we had been traveling through Kuala Lumpur.
When our meal was served, we were delighted by the authentic flavors crafted by the Thai chef. The dishes were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The restaurant's Thai staff enhanced the experience with their professionalism and warmth. In particular, Khun Jib greeted us with a smile that embodied Thai hospitality in every gesture. Another standout was Tiyas, a charming lady from Indonesia, whose radiant smile and attentive service enriched our stay. She was exceptionally personable and engaging, making conversation a joy for us.
We deeply appreciate the delicious food, the outstanding service from all the staff, and the talented chef who prepared such wonderful Thai cuisine. Thank you for making our dining experience truly memorable!
As part of our Platinum Elite benefits, we enjoyed the Afternoon Tea service, available from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM at the Acqua restaurant. The service featured a delightful selection of sandwiches, scones, cake, and beverages such as tea and coffee.
We never felt alone during this experience, as Alex, a local Maldivian, warmly introduced himself and engaged in conversation as if we were old friends. He even taught us a few phrases in the Maldivian language, which we truly enjoyed.
Additionally, Russtie entertained us with a private magic show, which was captivating and made us forget the sweltering heat altogether. This combination of warm hospitality, engaging conversation, and delightful entertainment made for a memorable afternoon.
Another benefit of Platinum Elite membership is the Evening Cocktail service at the Dolphin Bar. The menu is extensive, spanning two full pages, and offering a wide variety of choices. As Platinum Elite members, we were entitled to complimentary evening cocktails. However, during the checkout process, charges for these cocktails appeared on our bill, despite having informed the staff beforehand of our membership status.
I recommend that the Dolphin Bar staff carefully verify the eligibility of guests before finalizing charges to ensure such errors are avoided. This attention to detail would help maintain a seamless experience for Platinum Elite members and prevent any inconvenience during checkout.
The Italian restaurant, Acqua, offers an extensive menu with a wide variety of options. The pizza, in particular, was excellent. We had the pleasure of sampling several dishes, all of which were delightful. The experience was further enhanced by the availability of an impressive selection of wines and other alcoholic beverages, offered generously without limitation.
The combination of delicious Italian cuisine and the extensive drink options made for a truly enjoyable dining experience.
During our stay, we enjoyed the breakfast service each morning. The variety of dishes, however, was somewhat limited. We suggest expanding the selection to include a broader range of options, as the current offerings mainly featured Indian cuisine and local dishes, which did not fully align with our preferences.
That said, the breakfast staff were outstanding. In particular, Chowcha, a warm and engaging young woman with a bright smile, made our mornings truly enjoyable. She consistently served us coffee and remembered our preferences each day, which was remarkable. Her attentive service and cheerful demeanor made a significant positive impression on us.
We truly appreciated her excellent service and hope to see greater diversity in the breakfast menu in the future.
Catherine, or as we fondly called her Catriona Grey, from the Philippines, was another exceptional member of the breakfast staff. She engaged with us every day, making our mornings more enjoyable with her friendly conversations. We deeply appreciate her assistance, particularly her thoughtfulness in arranging buggies for us whenever needed.
Her attentive service and warm hospitality added to the positive experience of our stay, and we are grateful for her dedication and kindness.
Of course, we encountered Alex again during breakfast service! It certainly seems like he works incredibly hard. We noticed that we saw him more frequently than anyone else at the hotel. His consistent presence and dedication truly stood out, and it felt as though he was always there, ensuring guests had a wonderful experience.
We truly appreciate his hard work, friendliness, and the effort he put into making our stay memorable. Alex's dedication and enthusiasm are a testament to the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff.
Emmi, another delightful Thai staff member, took exceptional care of us throughout our stay. We sincerely appreciate her attentiveness and kindness. We had the opportunity to share our concerns about the inconveniences we experienced during our stay with her, and we hope that Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives will make the necessary improvements in the future.
On the day of our checkout, we couldn’t help but feel reluctant to leave. We wished we could extend our stay for another 2-3 days. It was clear to us that every staff member worked tirelessly to ensure guests enjoyed a seamless and comfortable experience, and their genuine warmth and friendliness were deeply felt.
Lastly, we would like to suggest improving the acknowledgment and communication of Elite membership benefits. A more consistent effort in greeting and recognizing Elite members would enhance the overall guest experience and ensure members feel valued and appreciated.
