Thundi Sea View

Considering infinite number of islands with zillion properties in Maldives it was difficult to find a good property in Maldives but I am glad I chose Thundi & Fulidhoo. It was a perfect stay at Thundi, beach just across the room. Shifaz and the entire team was extremely friendly and helpful. Hospitality was at its max. We did lot of activities including sand bank (drone recommended), shark swim, turtle snorkeling, shipwreck, house reef snorkel. All of them were so beautiful. Being a non-swimmer Shifaz was very patient, made us practice snorkeling in shallow water and took so much care which helped us enjoy & fall in love with Maldives water. We stayed for 4 nights, breakfast buffet had limited options, but it was good. Our dinner was included in the package which was set meals (and not buffet) with limited options; would not recommend getting dinner included in the package; rather buy dinner separately it will cost the same, but one will have multiple options. Chef was super good; he also made us Indian curry on our request. Shifaz & team made special decorations in the room for our anniversary; we also got beach candle dinner arranged through them which was very nicely done. It was a small island which can be covered in 10-15 mins by foot. Everyday we saw lot of stingrays (lot of tourists from other islands visit to watch stingrays) and beautiful sunset. Will definitely visit Thundi if I plan Maldives again.

Stayed for 12 nights and loved it. Loved: + Service was amazing. General Manager Shifaz extremely responsive and helped organize everything for our group of 7. Staff was unfailingly cheery from housekeeping to restaurant wait staff. Always greeted each guest with a smile. + Lounge chairs by the water were the comfiest we saw anywhere with thick padding + Excursions were great. We did sand bar, Turtle Point (saw 2 turtles), Shark Point (must do), swimming with rays (Thundi organized fish to feed the rays, use of their paddle board; drone available for extra) + Food at the Faru Cafe was 7.5/10 (compared to local cafes which was 4/10); dinner buffet was better than set meals; breakfast buffet had limited options but quality was good. Coffee on the weak side. + Snorkeling right by Thundi was decent. Saw a few sharks and one turtle. Lots of fish. Coral only so-so. + Easy walk everywhere. Main shop 3 minutes; Main Bikini Beach 4 minutes + Internet was very good (65 mbps compared to 5mps on the resort island we stayed at afterwards) Didn't love: - No lounge chairs at the bikini beach. There are chairs there from other hotels but they're policed so you may get asked to move - Slightly on the high side maybe by $10 as rooms are fairly basic but excellent service and surprise extras more than made up for it - Lots of mosquitoes by the lounge chairs Tip: Thundi arranged speedboat transfer but finding the representative at the Male airport is dodgy (completely not Thundi's fault). Guy had no sign or any identifying clothing. I actually got left behind despite waiting at the designated spot the first day and had to rebook for the next day (losing one day and having to pay for an additional night on Male). Once you arrive at the spot, use the Help Desk phone to call Thundi who will call the speedboat to make sure they pick you up. Airport Wifi was impossible to connect to. Not sure how often this happens, but extremely unprofessional of speedboat company. Again, not Thundi's fault, but perhaps a fail safe needs to be in place to ensure this never happens again. Overall, extremely satisfied and would recommend 10/10. Island is gorgeous and the rays / sharks that come up to the beach every day was an amazing experience. Tours from other islands only had a few minutes with them, but being able to go out at any time of day to swim with them was priceless.

A most perfect blissful experience of our lives. As beautiful as Fulidhoo Island is, our experience was made even better by careful staff at Thundi- Annie is so helpful and sweet, Arif was kind and always there to help us out and took us on a most memorable snorkelling trip. Yaseen was always at the blink of our eyes for every little and big thing… Thundi is the most peaceful, beautiful and homely place we have ever stayed in..

If you are seeking for the best island life experience, I highly recommend Thundi Guest House. The team is fantastic. Arif was always here to organize the most incredible excursions and attentive to all our needs. Hani was very welcoming and hospitable. The chef is very talented and prepares a great assortment of dishes. The guest house is located in a wonderful area and has its own beach, allowing privacy while everything is at walking distance. The sunset is also visible from the guest house beach. The rooms are comfortable and the outdoor bathroom is a great value! I highly recommend this super guest house who values hospitality and aims to create exceptional moments!

My wife and I stayed at Thundi as part of a dive package with the excellent Fulidhoo Dive. It was a wonderful stay. The location is excellent, the price is competitive, the food is OUTSTANDING (which is made even better by their generous portion sizes). The beach - while not as clean or inviting as the main Fulidhoo one, is lovely enough to just gaze at while sitting and reading on one of the many lounge chairs they have. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the premises is very quiet and inviting. For cat lovers, there are several cats running all around the place (one of the more, er, "memorable" parts of my trip was us trying to extricate a hook that a poor kitten had got itself inveigled in). They range from the aloof to the super friendly who will demand rubs! Shifaz, who runs the place does a great job. He was super helpful even before we took off from Mumbai, sharing lots of info via Whatsapp, organizing trips and giving tips. Lastly - did I mention the food? Doesn't matter, I'll say it again. It was excellent. From Maldivian breakfasts to spicy Indian cuisine to an insanely good sashimi platter, Chef Mohit and his kitchen team whip up one heck of a meal. If you're staying here, you should definitely do the half-board at least. Between stunning dives and those meals, our week in Fulidhoo was a memorable one.
