American couple under 35. honeymoon. 6 nights. first time to Maldives. overall would say this is a 4 star resort, not 5. still had a really wonderful time and would recommend this place to others if you can get a package discount of some sort (we booked through VIP Traveler). pros: --because the resort is a short ride from the airport you can piggyback it with other travel very easily (we spent 3 days in Singapore beforehand; a lot of other people we met did Dubai) --most of the workers are incredibly kind, friendly, and communicative --their drinks are really delicious --they provide snorkel gear that you can keep for the entirety of your stay. we didn't even end up doing any excursions because there were so many fish we could see right out our front door! --food is delicious. lots of lovely dishes. --we were very glad we went with the all inclusive option so we could have drinks at the pool throughout the day, as well as in our room. not having to think about what was/wasn't included was really nice. --the room is just as big as expected. i was afraid it would feel small but it didnt! —spa was incredible. loved our experience there! great service and high quality massage. —there were no loud children at the resort. we were worried about that as this resort is not adults only but we didn’t have any issues with it. cons: --a big point of improvement would be to install ceiling fans on the decks of all the bungalows, at the pool bar, and at the patio of Citronelle restaurant. there is NO breeze at the pool bar or Citronelle. the A/C in your room shuts off if you leave the door open. --the birds at the pool were very persistent and aggressive. unless you are at a cabana by the pool be prepared to be bombarded. the staff only shoo away the birds by the cabanas. --on the day of departure you will have to leave your room by noon. the day before we left they pushed us to pay an extra $300 for a different room for the 8+ hours we had between check out at noon and our boat departure to the airport at 8:30pm. this was a surprise, and if we had known, we would have tried to push up our flights. we told them what a poor experience this was to end the trip on and they ended up "comping" us the time at the other room. it was still very inconvenient to pack up all of our things and spend the remainder of the day at the other room, which was a beach room and not an over water bungalow. also our all inclusive package ended at noon and so we were paying for food/drinks a la carte until our departure. we absolutely understand their policy on the noon cut off time, but they need to communicate earlier to their customers about the situation so they can adjust their schedules accordingly. this just didn't feel like 5 star service to us. --if you stay longer than a few days the dining options start to get boring. wish they had a 4th restaurant. --we were excited to go to Crossroads (their sister island) one afternoon, but when we got there it was a weird vibe. there are only a couple of stores to shop at. the pool is not nearly as nice as SO's. dining is incredibly expensive so we didn't bother.

The best part of our stay at SO/ Maldives was the perfect harmony between luxury and nature. The overwater villa was modern, stylish, and private, with direct access to the clear blue lagoon — it was absolutely breathtaking. All the staff were kind and welcoming, and having Anara, who speaks Korean, made us feel even more at ease. Thank you for your thoughtful care. Snorkeling, the dolphin show, DJ music at night, and the delicious food and cocktails — we’ll never forget any of it. Long live SO/ Maldives!

The design is chic and modern, with breathtaking views everywhere you look. Staff were incredibly warm and attentive esp. khun View and Alena, making every moment feel special. The villas are luxurious and private—perfect for a romantic getaway or peaceful escape. Can’t wait to return!

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding the complete lack of response to my multiple inquiries. Despite sending four separate emails and follow-up messages via KakaoTalk, I have not received any reply for the past five days. This level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable, particularly from a property under the Accor brand. As a loyal Accor guest with over 200 nights stayed, I have never encountered such poor communication from any of your hotels. I am seriously questioning whether SO/ Maldives is prepared to welcome guests, or if there is simply no staff available to handle even basic inquiries. Please advise if there is someone competent who can provide a prompt and professional response. Otherwise, I will be forced to reconsider my reservation and escalate this matter further within the Accor network.

Our over water villa was a bucket list dream come true. Not only were the accommodations spectacular, but the whole resort island was wonderful. Although we were told the resort was at capacity, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The restaurants and spa were beautiful and the food was amazing. What made the trip extra special was the attention of the whole staff there. They quickly learned our favorite drinks and snacks and brought them to us before we could even ask. Everyone made us feel special, welcome, and like family. While everyone we encountered were amazing, I’m afraid we didn’t get everyone’s names. However, our hostess and GEM, Maria was our foremost advocate. She seemed to be there anytime we needed something and even drove us in her “buggy” to the spa. When I hurt my hand, she immediately had their doctor come see me. Among our favorite bartenders was Rajan and the pizza (and amazing chip) chef, Nick. Aurmeen, who met us at the airport, went above and beyond taking our bags and walking us through security on the way home. Overall, a spectacular trip. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Terrible experience. They scratched and ruined my Rimowa bag and refused to take responsibility. The toilet was filthy with pee everywhere. When I complained, the manager told me to take a refund and go find another hotel. Completely unprofessional — I will not be coming back. And don't think to book on this resort

My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves this past week at SO/ Maldives. Ahsan made it so easy for us, we felt very welcomed and appreciated. The location is not too far from the airport which is convenient.

1- No privacy in the rooms 2- Uncomfortable (hard) beds 3- Slow service 4- Is it reasonable that twelve rooms are being jock-checked now and you have to wait until 6:00 PM for the bot to move?! And no help is provided. The flight schedule was changed due to the lack of cooperation from the hotel management.

Our Maldives trip was nothing short of magical, and a big part of that was thanks to Vishan from SO/ maldives who organised it so perfectly for us.||The best part of our stay was undoubtedly the overwater villa — waking up to the ocean, stunning views all around, and direct access to the water felt like a dream. The room was luxurious, spotless, and beautifully designed, and the service was top-notch — every request was handled with care and a smile. We truly felt pampered throughout our stay.||Honestly, we loved every bit of it. If there’s anything to improve, maybe just a bit more variety in the vegetarian food options, but that’s hardly a complaint. Everything else exceeded expectations.||Huge thanks again to Vishan for making the entire experience smooth, luxurious, and unforgettable. Can’t wait to go back to SO/ Maldives.
