Stunning!!!!!!!
Recently returned from this beautiful resort and already wishing we were still there. We arrived late and where shown to the villa quickly. The beach villa was fabulous although we did encounter some initial teething problems but, the deputy manager Karouna was very reactive in responding and rectifying the problems. Karouna continued throughout our stay to be excetionally helpful and is a credit to the island. On arrival to the maldives I have visited another island previously i felt this needed to be improved. There was no welcome drink and the garland they present you with was poor quality . If its your first visit to the maldives first impressions mean a great deal and this was dissapointing. The beds are large and very comfortable so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. Waking up to sea views and beautiful beaches you feel as though your in a dream. Two restaurants with a variety of meats and salads along with a good variation of other dishes including lots of deserts. The restaurant staff were amazing and couldnt do enough for you. Plenty to drink with a variety of cocktails and original wines and spirits , jist there for the asking. Kasun and Pubudu were amazing and gave excellent customer service. We didn't eat breakfast but had lunch and evening meals and there was snacks in between if you wanted them. The dive centre was fabulous with a variety of trips and activities. Toddy went above and beyond to be helpful. We took the dolphin trip paddell boarded, jet skied and booked kayaking but due to turbulent weather had to cancel this. Give them all a try as so worth it. The Italian restaurant is nice and upstairs there is a games room, including darts, pool karaoke, jenga and many other games to take part in. Food is nice a small menu but worth a visit and again the staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. We were fortunate to have 2 nights in a water bungalow which was a fabulous experience so if you can give it a try.
The island is an hour from Male and you get a domestic flight across and worth that extra flight. I was rather surprised that on a beautiful Maldivian island there is an airport and a manufacturing operation going on. For us it didn't quite ring right as that's not what you would expect on the island, doesn't add to the beautiful surroundings at all. I would of rated the island 5 but for the previously mentioned, along with there is needed a little tlc in some areas for example some of the villas furniture is outdated and in some places in need of repair. Overall we would recommend and can't thank the staff enough for being so wonderful.

A mythical and magical paradise
Our recent journey to the Mercure Resort on Kooddoo Island in the Maldives was an adventure of a lifetime, one that we will cherish for years to come. As an environmental scientist with a deep passion for climate change and its impact on our planet, I was drawn to the Maldives as a nation that is among the first to face the harsh reality of sea level rise. But our stay at the Mercure was far beyond my initial expectations, as it offered us an escape to a tropical paradise that exceeded our wildest dreams.
As we set foot on the island, we were immediately struck by the beauty and tranquility of our surroundings. The absence of “the clutter of modernity” created a serene atmosphere, which was amplified by the unbelievably polite and courteous staff. From the very beginning, we were met with a level of service that can only be described as exceptional. The food was nothing short of exquisite - every meal was an opportunity to enjoy local fish, cooked and served to perfection by a friendly and attentive staff. The bar service was also outstanding, with a group of fellas that made us feel like we were among lifelong friends.
As we explored the island and took part in the various activities available, we were consistently impressed by the quality of service provided by the Mercure staff. Whether renting bicycles, snorkeling, paddle boarding, jet skiing, or fishing, we were met with an unwavering commitment to ensuring that our experiences were unforgettable. It was truly a joy to interact with such a passionate and dedicated team.
In addition to all of the incredible amenities, I had one goal in mind - to create an unforgettable 30th birthday experience for my fiancé. And I am proud to say that the Mercure surpassed all expectations. From the beautiful overwater bungalow we called home for a week, to the luxurious and serene spa services that left my fiancé feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, every detail was perfect. The man in love could not have been more pleased to have shared such a magical experience with his beloved.
In summary, our stay at Mercure on Kooddoo Island was a journey to a mythical and magical paradise, one that we will always remember with fondness. We left a piece of our hearts on the island, and we are already longing to return to the Maldives. If you are searching for a truly exceptional tropical paradise with top-notch amenities, impeccable service, unforgettable experiences, and a chance to witness the impacts of climate change firsthand, look no further than the Mercure on Kooddoo Island. It deserves nothing short of a 10 out of 10 rating.

Sisters Trip 3/2023
My sister and I visited this past March. Our stay at this beautiful resort was terrific. The planning and communication with the resort were easy, consistent, and timely. The resort website is updated, and I found a lot of information (rooms, all-inclusive options, activities, and restaurants). The few questions I had were answered via email. The resort arranged for a VIP welcome at the airport. After clearing immigration and customs, we were met by Asife, who took care of our luggage and showed us to the VIP lounge while we waited for our interisland/domestic flight from Male to Koodoo. Be prepared to wait a few hours or more for the domestic flight. Asife was very kind and informative, ensuring we were comfortable from arriving at Male to departure to Koodoo. Thank you so much for your excellent service. Upon arrival at Koodoo, the resort was just a buggy ride away, a few minutes.
The resort was beautiful; the staff welcomed us well (dance, welcome drinks). We booked an overwater sunset bungalow with a pool. The room was spacious, with a big bathroom, a tub, an indoor and outdoor shower, a closet, and a safe. The view from the room was breathtaking. There was a glass floor in the room where we saw all kinds of fish, turtles, and manta rays. We had an outdoor pool and access to the ocean. We snorkeled right outside our bungalow, and it was amazing! The highlight of my stay was watching the most beautiful sunsets from the room and the pool. We had an all-inclusive plan. The fridge was stocked with wine, beer, soda, water, and juices which were refilled daily. Snacks were also provided. The main pool was beautiful and another perfect spot to watch the sunset and enjoy cocktails/wine/beer. The floating breakfast tray was a fantastic idea. There was so much food for two people.
The main restaurant served buffet-style food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There were different themes for dinner; our favorite was the seafood buffet. The drink selection, including the wine list, was outstanding for a buffet and all-inclusive. The main bar served alcohol and mid-afternoon snacks and serviced the pool area. We had one dinner at the ala carte Italian restaurant Vista. The pasta dishes were delicious, and the wine list had great wines. The restaurant also had an upstairs lounge to chill, play games, and listen to music. The nightlife was non-existent, with no entertainment. We were informed that the resort was awaiting a new DJ. The restaurant staff was outstanding! I only got a few names, but I thought the following provided excellent service and genuinely enjoyed their job: Yambar (chef), Maazim, Layaal, Pubudu at the bar, and Yuthki at the beach bar. Thank you so much for helping us create memories. Cash in dollars or charging tips to the room/credit card was convenient.
For activities, we took a snorkeling class (snorkel gear was provided) and went on the dolphin cruise/tour and the photoshoot. We were lucky to see dolphins who decided to show off that evening lol! The staff at the dive center was excellent. Book activities in advance because they will fill up quickly. The massage at the spa was relaxing. I was able to use the gym a few times, perfect location with amazing views of the villas.
My sister and I had a wonderful stay. Part of my luggage was accidentally not loaded on the resort buggy when we left for the airport. I am so grateful to the managers, Mohamed Hoodh and Karouna Sellapillay, for ensuring that my belongings were shipped to my home address. I also want to thank Asife again at the airport. He knew how worried I was about my luggage but reassured me that he would communicate with the resort. The managers then followed up and updated me via email until I received my package. Thank you all.

The stay at the resort was fabulous from start to finish. Everyone was courteous and friendly - always willing to help. In particular, Lyaal, Kanchan, Smith and Sajuwa. They made our stay relaxing and peaceful. The food was amazing as well. The overwater bungalows and reef that were over were beautiful. Would highly recommend to anyone!
