Question 1

How do I get from the airport to Meeru Island Resort and Spa?

Accepted Answer

Meeru Island Resort is located on Meerufenfushi in North Male Atoll, 55 minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. No seaplane is required. The speedboat transfer is scenic and it as a fun ride on a nice, clean boat. The resort greets guests on arrival with welcome tea and a much-needed wet towel. The island is 1,200 metres long by 350 metres wide — one of the third largest resort islands in the Maldives. Because of its size, the island genuinely feels uncrowded even at full capacity: despite approximately 500 guests on island at maximum occupancy, most it as quiet and rarely encountering too many people outside the restaurants. Tip: Take the speedboat transfer rather than arranging alternatives — the 55-minute journey is a pleasant scenic ride rather than a hardship, and the speed of boat and the welcome on arrival are specifically appreciated. The no-seaplane logistics make any international arrival time workable.

Question 2

How does the two-zone structure work — family area and adult area?

Accepted Answer

Meeru is divided into two distinct zones on the same island: the southern family-friendly area and the northern adult-preferred area. Guests in northern Jacuzzi Water Villas (number 624 and surrounding rooms) specifically appreciate access to the adults-only Maalan restaurant without children. The division means families can genuinely be separated from couples if both want a different atmosphere. Tip: Confirm which restaurant zone your villa falls under at booking — the north-south restaurant assignment is determined by villa location, and arriving with a clear understanding of which restaurant you dine at prevents the confusion that some guests experience on the first evening.

Only snorkelling spot 37 is noted as the one place where live coral is visible.
