We stayed at this property on the small island of Eriyadu during Christmas week 2024. Absolutely positive experience.|I have been to the Maldives many times several years ago and never in the Male atoll. This island surprised me with the variety of fish fauna present.|All the reef fish, sea turtles, black tip sharks, eagle rays, nurse sharks...|The resort shows some signs of age but is equipped with all the desirable services, diving center, water sports, a small gym, swimming pool, bar, restaurant, beach for everyone.|All the staff are extremely friendly without being intrusive.|I especially thank Monowar, my room keeper.|I thank all the diving staff, Eurodiver is always a guarantee but here on this island we have reached science fiction levels. Maniacal organization, kindness and a pinch of cheerfulness, Pratik, Julia, Elsa and Lisa, all good and professional.| The always available reception was essential to get a medicine for my son who had an ear infection and put me in touch with a doctor, at no cost. I thank the restaurant staff, attentive to the numerous dietary restrictions of my family. In conclusion, especially if it is your first experience in the Maldives, the structure and island are absolutely recommended, if you want to immerse yourself in a small paradise oasis, living simply and informally, (even without slippers).

Comunque in generale consigliato.

Eriyadu Island Resort has always been a special place for me, and this being my third visit (previously two and five years ago), it felt like coming back to paradise. This trip was extra special because I proposed to my fiancée during a romantic beach dinner, which was beautifully set up by the resort staff. They went above and beyond to make it a memory we’ll cherish forever.||The spa experience was phenomenal! Desak, Mutva, and Vineetha provided the best massages we’ve ever had—and we get massages regularly while traveling. Their expertise, attention to detail, and warm hospitality were unmatched. My fiancée still can’t stop talking about it!||The dive center staff—Pratik, Elsa, and Shifau—were incredibly professional and friendly. They made exploring the underwater world around Eriyadu an unforgettable adventure.||The restaurant and bar team were equally impressive. Rayhan and the rest of the staff’s attentive service at the restaurant ensured every meal felt special. Imam, our bar waiter, always greeted us with a smile and crafted delicious cocktails.||Special thanks to Bahir for maintaining our room impeccably and ensuring it always felt welcoming.||The reception staff, Pooja and Nuf, were always available to assist and made check-in and check-out seamless.||Eriyadu Island Resort continues to exceed our expectations with its incredible team, stunning natural beauty, and personalized service. Thank you all for making this visit—and our engagement—so memorable. We can’t wait to return!

The resort was located in a very small island. The hosting and staffs were very cordial and friendly. Clean waters, clear reefs, smooth white sand and breathtaking views and beaches. Our room was a beach view villa and the location was perfect 100m from the beach. The room size was big enough to accommodate my infant's running and playing. The pictures are exactly as available in resort, whether it be room, swimming pool, bar, beaches. Very good options for diving and snorkeling at the island itself by Euro Drivers. |I booked full board package for B-L-D for 5 days 4 nights which had American, European options and lots of desserts but no options for Indians. I had to make special requests for making chapatis to the home chefs which seemed to be difficult to be made available. Also, no Indian veg in lunch /dinner. Once, i could have Indian style gobhi which I loved 😍 but was rare. Also, not even once did I ever have stuffed parathas in breakfast. I believe Indian cuisine is loved all over world and should be provided more often to make them feel more homely and comfortable and attract more Indian guests as I see lot if staffs constitutes Indians |Secondly, I did not see any recreational activity for kids, whereas there were lots of kids on the island.|Also, resort needs some active recreation/engagement plan for guests. There was only Live singing/DJ which used to close by 9pm. And hence post dinner, the island seemed to be dull and gloomy. I suggest more self-engaging activities involving all inmates with small invitations across rooms and encouraging guests participation - cud be a game, singing, performances, dance across cultures could make the experience on the island a long lasting memory.

November 28 - December 12, 2024||Here follows a very detailed review of Eriyadu, which is worth reading for those looking for a resort in the lower price segment and willing to compromise on food and drinks.||Introduction:|We’ve been vacationing in the Maldives regularly since 1991, often twice a year. We previously stayed on Eriyadu in 2003, 2004, and 2013. Back then, the house reef was so spectacular and vibrant that guests from other resorts would take snorkeling trips to Eriyadu — and rightfully so.|At that time, there was a buffet restaurant located directly on the beach with an open view of the sea. |The swimming pool was considered an unnecessary luxury, and all accommodations were distributed as duplex bungalows around the island.||For the last ten years, we weren’t interested in how Eriyadu developed. We moved on to “better” resorts. About six months ago, however, I came across a blog by an Englishman about Eriyadu. The pictures and videos showed a relatively dull reef but an astonishing variety of fish. That convinced us to visit Eriyadu once again. Back to the roots….||Arrival and Departure:|After a 1.5-hour wait at Velana Airport, we had a rough speedboat ride to Eriyadu, which took about an hour.|The resort staff gave us a warm welcome, provided a brief orientation, and handed over the key to our bungalow.|The return transfer was punctual, and with calm seas, it took just under 50 minutes.||The Island:|The first view of the island revealed a construction site for a new jetty, which was urgently needed after 40 years. This didn’t surprise us, as I’d read that the new owners had carried out safety checks during the takeover and found the old jetty no longer met regulations. After contacting our travel agent and the operator (Schauinsland), we were assured that there would be no construction noise in our bungalow. Trusting this information, we decided not to rebook and make the most of our holiday. While we occasionally heard the excavator or hammering, it didn’t bother us. Other guests, even those staying on the far side of the island, complained loudly and demanded compensation.||After a week, the excavator was gone, and construction continued manually. We estimate the new jetty will be operational in six months, after which the old one will be dismantled.||The second glance revealed a “row housing development”: a two-story building with 12 units where the buffet restaurant once stood. The restaurant was relocated behind this building, set back from the beach, which is definitely a downgrade. There’s now no view of the sea from the restaurant.|The island cannot currently be circumnavigated on foot due to erosion. The southern side has very little beach, while the northern side has plenty.||There’s no need for parasols, as the area between the bungalows and the beach is densely vegetated, providing ample shade. The resort is due for a complete renovation at some point.||Accommodation:|We booked a renovated bungalow and were assigned No. 205 on the windless southern side. To us, it didn’t look renovated.|A definite highlight was the air conditioning, which was nearly silent.|The furniture is dark, but there’s plenty of closet and drawer space. Previously, the bathrooms were fully enclosed, but now there’s an opening above the shower, which we found amusingly referred to as a “semi-open” bathroom. Double sinks, a bathtub with a shower, a toilet with a wash hose. An outdoor foot shower by the entrance is a convenient addition.|The terrace was small, and the chairs were uncomfortable without cushions. Overall, everything felt dated.||That said, the staff made every effort!|Not enough hangers? No problem — they brought more.|The mattress was extremely hard. They brought one topper, then another, and even a third until it was comfortable. I asked for one of the old wooden loungers with thick cushions to avoid back pain (having experienced discomfort from worn-out plastic loungers on Vilamendhoo). Within 30 minutes, two wooden loungers were placed outside our bungalow. Fantastic!||Thanks to Mainuddin, who made a very good job, housekeeping was excellent, with twice-daily cleaning, towel service, soap/shampoo refills, and restocking of coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer.|Two 0.5L bottles of water per room per day were included, though only in plastic bottles.||Restaurant:|Tables and chairs are still in the sand, while the buffet is set up in a tiled area.|There’s free seating and full self-service.||We intended to book half-board but ended up with full-board plus, which includes water or a soft drink per meal. Coffee at breakfast is served from a large pot.||We remembered the food being simple but acceptable ten years ago. This time, it was downright awful. Breakfast was the exception, with freshly prepared egg dishes, tasty waffles, a good selection of sweets, and fruit. However, the savory options, like processed cheese slices and chicken salami, were dreadful.||Lunch and dinner were bland, overcooked, lukewarm or cold, unimaginative, and carelessly prepared. Pasta and potatoes were mushy. How do you make chicken or fish so dry? The curries were reportedly decent, though.|In the end, we stuck to salads and desserts.||We were frequently asked for feedback on the food. At first, I thought they genuinely wanted to improve, but with the current kitchen staff, nothing will change.|In summary, anyone nostalgic for the Maldives of 1990 will be 100% satisfied here 😉||Bar and Entertainment:|On the first evening, my husband wanted a draft beer — unavailable. I fancied a glass of Prosecco — also unavailable. Aperol Spritz? They hadn’t heard of it. The next day, they said Prosecco would be back but only by the bottle, starting at $60++ per bottle.|We tried cocktails and house wine (included in AI) but didn’t like them. Bottled wine? Many on the menu were marked as unavailable. The same frustrating conversation repeated daily.||Evening entertainment began at 9:00 PM and included diving presentations twice weekly, live music twice, karaoke twice, and a DJ once. We enjoyed this 🤗||Snorkeling:|Great !!|The easiest entry point is mid-north side, where the drop-off is 25 meters out, or via stairs at the dive center. At high tide, entry and exit are possible anywhere. During our stay, there was almost no current.||The reef is vast and teeming with life. We snorkeled more than ever and discovered something special every day, though visibility was sometimes reduced due to plankton.||We spotted devil rays, eagle rays, nurse sharks in action, six different turtles, batfish, and many more. A highlight was finding a scorpionfish.|Night snorkeling with flashlights was also a lot of fun.||The reef itself is mostly gray. We’re particularly concerned about the surviving healthy corals, as we saw roughly 80 crown-of-thorns starfish, which have devastated reefs on other islands like Angaga and Vakarufalhi (now Nova).||Weather:|The forecast predicted five days of continuous storms and heavy rain. What we got: a strong 2.5-hour shower on day two and a few drops early morning on day four. The rest of the time was sunny with occasional clouds.||Spa, Watersports, Gym, Excursions, Island Shop:|We didn’t use these facilities.||Guests:|The majority were British, Italian, and Russian, with a few Germans, Dutch, Poles, Hungarians, Austrians, and some Asians. A good mix, with no one behaving poorly.||Staffing Issues:|A receptionist shared insights about Maldivian work culture, noting that 60% of young people in Male work at most 50% of the time, spending the rest “chilling.” Work-life balance is emphasized, but often without much work. The result is a massive skills shortage — a problem that we know very well in Europe.||Costs:|Regarding HB, FB, or AI:|We like AI, but only when it’s truly all-inclusive, covering the minibar, bar, and restaurants. We would have also used the money that we spent on expensive wine on site for the very limited all-inclusive.||Conclusion:|Two weeks barefoot 😁|A very relaxing holiday without luxury but filled with amazing experiences above and below water. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere. |Thanks to Naf for always having a smile and a nice chat with us. |We won’t return to Eriyadu, but we don’t regret going either.

This was our first visit to Maldives and we chose Eriyadu Resort because it had a dive center with a lot of activities and the prices for booking were reasonable.|If you enjoy water sports, this is the resort for you, there is a dive center in the island offering a lot of activities and excursions. Euro-Divers Eriyadu staff are great and helpful, we had a great first experience diving with Pratik and then snorkeling with Elsa.|The island is quite nice, with a lot of vegetation and surronded by a beatiful reef that you can explore by snorkeling. I suggest to always check the tides (google or apps) to make the most of each snorkeling. It is a place full of life where you can see reef sharks, turtles, all type of fish and on land you will see small lizards, hermit crabs, from time to time fruit bats flying around.|Our staying was very pleasent and peaceful, all the staff were friendly and helpful, in particular Nimesh, the waiter from the restaurant who provided an excellent service and good suggestions.|We hope to come back soon.

The island is small with one bar & a beach bar, one restaurant, small spa, small gym, pool table & table tennis. We stayed in one of the bungalows but wouldn’t describe them at all as deluxe as they are very tired so much so that the manager even agreed and it also does depend on the location of your bungalow as there was a lot of swapping going on but this is not always possible. The food was good but we did go for dinner & tea at the beginning of the service to ensure that it was hot and fresh.|We chose this island as we wanted small and the easy to see sea life.|This was our first visit to the Maldives and we were really looking forward to the Maldives experience and the holiday of a lifetime but unfortunately this was spoilt as Blue Bay Travel sent 2 emails regarding building work on the island, one just a week before we were due to go, they told us that nobody had complained and that it wouldn’t affect our holiday.|The island was taken over by new management in June and we have since found out from other guests that they were shown the plans for the island which are major changes for the future. We have since found out that an inspection was carried out and this work was on the report which clearly means that people where aware and we feel that the island should have shut for a couple of weeks to do a new dive centre and a new jetty all at the same time.|The email we received from Blue Bay Travel clearly said that the work was on the 42 year old jetty and the work was preventative maintenance work but this was total incorrect as the work was building a new jetty!

An excellent break in a lovely resort. The house reef is superb - and very accessible; the food is varied and tasty (with healthy options available); and the staff could not have done more to make our stay enjoyable (special mention here of Muhammad and Ijlal, who both provided outstanding service). The rooms are a bit tired - but perfectly clean and comfortable, and you're not in the Maldives to sit around in your room. The island is small, but full of interesting wildlife (herons, bats, hermit crabs, geckos ...). Good facilities (expeditions for those who want them, a fitness room, a spa). |But the real joy of the place is the reef. If you enjoy swimming, snorkelling or diving, this is an affordable and memorable destination. We had a great time.

We have just returned from a trip to Eriyadu, booked via Blue Bay Travel. On the run up to the trip we received messages from BBT that minor renovations would be talking place while we were there but would not affect our holiday. Then a couple of days before we left this had changed to what sounded like major works involving machinery but we were assured this would stop at 5.30. ||Too late to change islands, too late to get any sort of a refund from BBT. |The reality was that the work continued until around 7pm, as our time and date stamped videos demonstrate, making a quiet pre dinner drink in the bar impossible unless you want to watch and listen to a large mechanical excavator.||BBT were unconcerned but the hotel management were sympathetic and did their best to ameliorate the nuisance, and after we had complained, work stopped earlier.||I would be reluctant in future to believe anything BBT told me about work in resorts. I feel that they were very unfair to the hotel’s management who were the ones having to deal with complaints on the spot and who were unfailingly courteous and did their very best to placate us.||The holiday itself:|We were met on arrival at Male by a rep from the resort who shepherded us to a waiting area. Our speedboat then whisked us to Eriyadu. We were shown our room, thankfully on the opposite side of the island from the pile diving noise. I think calling it ‘de luxe’ is a bit of an exaggeration, the furniture was plain and utilitarian but perfectly comfortable and about 20 yards from the beautiful beach and very close to the little beach bar.||Our room steward Mohammed did a great job, keeping it spick and span, and timed his visits to coincide with our absence on the beach. Lovely to come back and find everything swept and smart. Thank you!||There is a great deal of new planting going on all ever the island. Very charming. Paths swept, everything very neat. A great job. ||There is one restaurant, a buffet, which I am not usually very keen on but the food here was top notch. The head chef Malala Sampath does amazingly. It helps to like Sri Lankan type food, which we do. Wonderful breakfast omlettes with minimal queuing. We regret not catching the name of ‘the egg man’ as he was excellent. A couple of times his lunchtime offering was pakora, vegetables deep fried in the crispest batter, very fresh tuna. Very nice puddings, particularly the various types of brownies.||What was particularly outstanding was the quality of the bakery. Everything cooked on the premises, excellent bread and at least three varieties of breakfast donuts every day, Swiss pastries and croissants.||We found the house wine perfectly acceptable especially the red.||The waiters in the restaurant were unfailingly helpful and attentive, especially John, who ensured we had everything we needed including always a table convenient for me with my impaired mobility. John, you are a star! Many thanks for your kindness.||The bar was also staffed by a charmingly helpful crew. Beautiful sunset views, sometimes less than beautiful sound effects when the digger was going full pelt. Also though we appreciated the effort made to provide evening entertainment in the bar, a couple of quiz evenings and kareoke. On other evenings the volume of the soloists was ridiculously loud to the extent that you could not make out a word that the person sitting next to you was saying, and guests moved onto the terrace leaving an empty bar. Beautiful voice and fine guitar playing but far too loud. (Tiny complaint about a great holiday!) ||With responsibility for food and beverages, together with a big contribution to stopping the building work on time, we are very grateful to Amitha. He is such a friendly and approachable person and makes great efforts to ensure his guests are having a good time, regardless of their issues with BlueBay.||Having stopped visiting the Maldives for a few years because of the tragic coral bleaching we encountered on our last visit, it was good to find so much coral here in good condition and so easy to access. ||So overall, how was the trip? I loved the island because it has that traditional Maldives feel to it, the food was fantastic and all the staff helpful and friendly.||Would we return? I would be happy to do so though I worry that future development would spoil this little gem. I would certainly be fussy about with whom I booked it.||Meanwhile huge thanks again to the General Manager and Amitha, Malala, anonymous omelette man, Mohammed our room steward, John, and friendly Durf from the Dive Centre and everyone else we encountered at Eriyadu.

I was very surprised when I arrived on Eriyadu and saw a working excavator. The administration had started a renovation without closing the island. Of course, they wouldn’t want to lose money, and tourists are expected to endure. The worst part wasn’t the lack of warning, discounts, or gestures of apology — no one even bothered to say sorry. It seemed like no one cared about the inconvenience guests were experiencing. If it had been minor repairs, it wouldn’t have been an issue, but this was a massive construction site. Water villas were being built near the pier with heavy machinery operating from 8 AM to 8 PM, causing noise in the bar (ruining the sunset view), the sky rooms, and the southern beach. Half the bay was murky, spoiling one of the best reef areas, and the air reeked of diesel. On the eastern side, they were building a breakwater, again with constant noise. In the center, a new building was under construction, filling the area with the stench of concrete and ruining the aesthetic. Workers were constantly moving around, adding to the disruption. To the north, a boat with a desalination unit was docked, spoiling the view and partially blocking access to the beach and reef. Additionally, various ships kept arriving, creating more noise and making the bay unusable. For these reasons, I strongly advise against visiting this hotel until the renovations are complete.

Wo fange ich an... gebucht All Inclusive. Konnte super damit leben. Sauberkeit top, zweimal am Tag gereinigt. Immer wieder frische Hand- und Badetücher. Grosses Bett, gute Matratze!

Just come back from Eriyadu and having never been to the Maldives before we were thrilled to experience something new every day. The wildlife is amazing, the fruit bats, the herons, other exotic sounding birds, the hermit crabs, the lizards and the enormous ants were all fascinating but obviously the sea-life is something else. We swam with Eagle rays, tipped reef sharks and turtles and so many beautiful tropical fish that I couldn't begin to name. Large nurse sharks live there too and dolphins are present- all harmless but breath-taking to see in the wild. Snorkelling really is the number 1 activity here, and exploring the endless reef and eyeing the drop-off with it's threat of larger less benign sea-life is enough to keep a middle-aged couple like us feeling very much alive. The dive centre has all necessary equipment for this but we took our own prescription masks as we didn't want to miss a thing. They will also provide paddle boards and kayaks - some with clear bottoms- and Padi scuba courses if you want them. They also took us out to another reef 20 mins away to check out the turtles there for a fee, but lots of people we met saw turtles in the house reef for free. The staff at Eriyadu are lovely and smiley, and very attentive. Sometimes they can have a tendency to quiz you on why you haven't been at breakfast for the last two days, (having a lie-in!) or why you didn't want your room making up yesterday? - (having another lie-in!) but our cleaner was happy to come back later on when we asked. The rooms are a bit shabby, the edges of the laminate flooring were curling up from repeated wet footprints I guess, and the wooden furniture was scuffed and tatty, but the bed was huge and comfortable, the air-con effective and the bathrooms were fairly modern and very clean, and really that's all that matters on a holiday where you spend most time outside. The bathroom has twin sinks, a bath and two showers - one underneath a hole in the ceiling which meant that we got to shower in the warm tropical rain when we had a storm, and on another dryer day, the tree above us was alive with fruitbats. Pretty magical. The buffet restaurant had a really good selection of dishes, my husband ate dahl for every meal (thank God we were outside mostly) but there was cereal, toast, very fluffy omelettes, cooked breaky items, croissants, and tons more at breakfast, main meals offering fried chicken, soup, salads, chow mein, stroganoff, and more curries. The deserts were interesting and plenty of fresh fruit was provided, their apples in lemon or cinnamon water were delish, and whilst some dishes were not covered, there were hardly any flies present and the salads caused no problems for anyone. The kitchen staff were constantly refreshing the containers and I was really impressed by the waiters' efforts to make us comfortable and satisfied. You must bear in mind that being a muslim country they will not provide any pork dishes, bacon, pork sausages etc, and whilst we partied in the bar with some overtly lesbian couples, there is still a certain amount of sexist stereotyping displayed inadvertently - giving my beer to hubby darling and his wine to me etc. On the other hand, there were several examples of a lack of respect for their culture shown by some guests, who weren't always shy about sunbathing topless or wearing revealing clothing to dinner as though it were some place in the Med. However, the worst offenders were the Russians who of course never smile, as it's not common in their culture, and could at times be very rude to the wait staff. Even on a shared boat trip we struggled to connect with them and afterwards it was if we didn't exist. They seemed sometimes to only be there for the selfie opportunities, and I found them uncomfortable to be around with the current situation in Ukraine. By the time we left, their number had become the majority and on a small island with no chance of escape it became my only complaint. Maybe some of the niggles in reviews below have been responded to as we found no problem having drinks next to the pool, or taking it back to our room. We saw others bring back drinks from the Turtle bar to their sunbeds outside their rooms and we felt lucky that whilst all of the channels on the room's TV (other than Al Jazeera) were not understood by us, two football matches that we were interested in watching were actually shown, so we brought wine back to drink whilst watching. The shop is ridiculously expensive, I was tempted my a lovely little shell bowl until I realised it was $400. Friends said they paid over £30 for a forgotten bottle of suncream. So make sure to bring the essentials, which IMO are, 2 or 3 swimsuits, snorkelling equipment if you want your own, sunscreen, toiletries and casual hot-weather clothing. I went everywhere bare foot, only worrying about treading on hermit crabs and there is no point in dressing up for dinner with the sandy floor and heat. Swim shoes are helpful if not wearing flippers as the coral can be really sharp.

We stayed at this property on the small island of Eriyadu during Christmas week 2024. Absolutely positive experience. I have been to the Maldives many times several years ago and never in the Male atoll. This island surprised me with the variety of fish fauna present. All the reef fish, sea turtles, black tip sharks, eagle rays, nurse sharks... The resort shows some signs of age but is equipped with all the desirable services, diving center, water sports, a small gym, swimming pool, bar, restaurant, beach for everyone. All the staff are extremely friendly without being intrusive. I especially thank Monowar, my room keeper. I thank all the diving staff, Eurodiver is always a guarantee but here on this island we have reached science fiction levels. Maniacal organization, kindness and a pinch of cheerfulness, Pratik, Julia, Elsa and Lisa, all good and professional. The always available reception was essential to get a medicine for my son who had an ear infection and put me in touch with a doctor, at no cost.

From the moment we arrived, we felt a warm welcome at Eriyadu Island Resort. Anna at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly, making us feel instantly at ease. The island itself is a breathtaking paradise, with pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and lush vegetation teeming with life. We spotted colorful lizards basking in the sun, observed fascinating bird species, and even caught glimpses of vibrant marine life while snorkeling. The service at the resort was exceptional. Vikram, our room attendant, ensured our room was always impeccably clean and comfortable. And the bar staff, Raju, Iman were incredibly friendly and efficient, always serving up delicious and refreshing drinks. Eriyadu Island Resort is more than just a destination; it's an experience. The combination of stunning natural beauty, exceptional service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere made our stay truly unforgettable.

Eriyadu Island Resort has always been a special place for me, and this being my third visit (previously two and five years ago), it felt like coming back to paradise. This trip was extra special because I proposed to my fiancée during a romantic beach dinner, which was beautifully set up by the resort staff. They went above and beyond to make it a memory we’ll cherish forever. The spa experience was phenomenal! Desak, Mutva, and Vineetha provided the best massages we’ve ever had—and we get massages regularly while traveling. Their expertise, attention to detail, and warm hospitality were unmatched. My fiancée still can’t stop talking about it! The dive center staff—Pratik, Elsa, and Shifau—were incredibly professional and friendly. They made exploring the underwater world around Eriyadu an unforgettable adventure. The restaurant and bar team were equally impressive. Rayhan and the rest of the staff’s attentive service at the restaurant ensured every meal felt special. Imam, our bar waiter, always greeted us with a smile and crafted delicious cocktails. Special thanks to Bahir for maintaining our room impeccably and ensuring it always felt welcoming. The reception staff, Pooja and Nuf, were always available to assist and made check-in and check-out seamless. Eriyadu Island Resort continues to exceed our expectations with its incredible team, stunning natural beauty, and personalized service.

I believe Indian cuisine is loved all over world and should be provided more often to make them feel more homely and comfortable and attract more Indian guests as I see lot if staffs constitutes Indians Secondly, I did not see any recreational activity for kids, whereas there were lots of kids on the island. Also, resort needs some active recreation/engagement plan for guests.

This was our first visit to Maldives and we chose Eriyadu Resort because it had a dive center with a lot of activities and the prices for booking were reasonable. If you enjoy water sports, this is the resort for you, there is a dive center in the island offering a lot of activities and excursions. Euro-Divers Eriyadu staff are great and helpful, we had a great first experience diving with Pratik and then snorkeling with Elsa. The island is quite nice, with a lot of vegetation and surronded by a beatiful reef that you can explore by snorkeling. I suggest to always check the tides (google or apps) to make the most of each snorkeling. It is a place full of life where you can see reef sharks, turtles, all type of fish and on land you will see small lizards, hermit crabs, from time to time fruit bats flying around. Our staying was very pleasent and peaceful, all the staff were friendly and helpful, in particular Nimesh, the waiter from the restaurant who provided an excellent service and good suggestions. We hope to come back soon.

November 28 - December 12, 2024 Here follows a very detailed review of Eriyadu, which is worth reading for those looking for a resort in the lower price segment and willing to compromise on food and drinks. Introduction: We’ve been vacationing in the Maldives regularly since 1991, often twice a year. We previously stayed on Eriyadu in 2003, 2004, and 2013. Back then, the house reef was so spectacular and vibrant that guests from other resorts would take snorkeling trips to Eriyadu — and rightfully so. At that time, there was a buffet restaurant located directly on the beach with an open view of the sea. The swimming pool was considered an unnecessary luxury, and all accommodations were distributed as duplex bungalows around the island. For the last ten years, we weren’t interested in how Eriyadu developed. We moved on to “better” resorts. About six months ago, however, I came across a blog by an Englishman about Eriyadu. The pictures and videos showed a relatively dull reef but an astonishing variety of fish. That convinced us to visit Eriyadu once again. Back to the roots…. Arrival and Departure: After a 1.5-hour wait at Velana Airport, we had a rough speedboat ride to Eriyadu, which took about an hour. The resort staff gave us a warm welcome, provided a brief orientation, and handed over the key to our bungalow. The return transfer was punctual, and with calm seas, it took just under 50 minutes. The Island: The first view of the island revealed a construction site for a new jetty, which was urgently needed after 40 years. Other guests, even those staying on the far side of the island, complained loudly and demanded compensation. After a week, the excavator was gone, and construction continued manually. We estimate the new jetty will be operational in six months, after which the old one will be dismantled. The second glance revealed a “row housing development”: a two-story building with 12 units where the buffet restaurant once stood. The restaurant was relocated behind this building, set back from the beach, which is definitely a downgrade. There’s now no view of the sea from the restaurant. The island cannot currently be circumnavigated on foot due to erosion. The southern side has very little beach, while the northern side has plenty. There’s no need for parasols, as the area between the bungalows and the beach is densely vegetated, providing ample shade. The resort is due for a complete renovation at some point. Accommodation: We booked a renovated bungalow and were assigned No. 205 on the windless southern side. To us, it didn’t look renovated. A definite highlight was the air conditioning, which was nearly silent. The furniture is dark, but there’s plenty of closet and drawer space. Previously, the bathrooms were fully enclosed, but now there’s an opening above the shower, which we found amusingly referred to as a “semi-open” bathroom. Double sinks, a bathtub with a shower, a toilet with a wash hose. An outdoor foot shower by the entrance is a convenient addition. The terrace was small, and the chairs were uncomfortable without cushions. Overall, everything felt dated. That said, the staff made every effort! Not enough hangers? No problem — they brought more. The mattress was extremely hard. Fantastic! Thanks to Mainuddin, who made a very good job, housekeeping was excellent, with twice-daily cleaning, towel service, soap/shampoo refills, and restocking of coffee, tea, sugar, and creamer. Two 0.5L bottles of water per room per day were included, though only in plastic bottles. Restaurant: Tables and chairs are still in the sand, while the buffet is set up in a tiled area. There’s free seating and full self-service. We intended to book half-board but ended up with full-board plus, which includes water or a soft drink per meal. Coffee at breakfast is served from a large pot. We remembered the food being simple but acceptable ten years ago. This time, it was downright awful. Breakfast was the exception, with freshly prepared egg dishes, tasty waffles, a good selection of sweets, and fruit. However, the savory options, like processed cheese slices and chicken salami, were dreadful. Lunch and dinner were bland, overcooked, lukewarm or cold, unimaginative, and carelessly prepared. Pasta and potatoes were mushy. How do you make chicken or fish so dry? The curries were reportedly decent, though. In the end, we stuck to salads and desserts. We were frequently asked for feedback on the food. At first, I thought they genuinely wanted to improve, but with the current kitchen staff, nothing will change. In summary, anyone nostalgic for the Maldives of 1990 will be 100% satisfied here 😉 Bar and Entertainment: On the first evening, my husband wanted a draft beer — unavailable. I fancied a glass of Prosecco — also unavailable. Aperol Spritz? They hadn’t heard of it. The next day, they said Prosecco would be back but only by the bottle, starting at $60++ per bottle. We tried cocktails and house wine (included in AI) but didn’t like them. Bottled wine? Many on the menu were marked as unavailable. The same frustrating conversation repeated daily. Evening entertainment began at 9:00 PM and included diving presentations twice weekly, live music twice, karaoke twice, and a DJ once. We enjoyed this 🤗 Snorkeling: Great !! The easiest entry point is mid-north side, where the drop-off is 25 meters out, or via stairs at the dive center. At high tide, entry and exit are possible anywhere. During our stay, there was almost no current. The reef is vast and teeming with life. We snorkeled more than ever and discovered something special every day, though visibility was sometimes reduced due to plankton. We spotted devil rays, eagle rays, nurse sharks in action, six different turtles, batfish, and many more. A highlight was finding a scorpionfish. Night snorkeling with flashlights was also a lot of fun. The reef itself is mostly gray. We’re particularly concerned about the surviving healthy corals, as we saw roughly 80 crown-of-thorns starfish, which have devastated reefs on other islands like Angaga and Vakarufalhi (now Nova). Weather: The forecast predicted five days of continuous storms and heavy rain. What we got: a strong 2.5-hour shower on day two and a few drops early morning on day four. The rest of the time was sunny with occasional clouds. Spa, Watersports, Gym, Excursions, Island Shop: We didn’t use these facilities. Guests: The majority were British, Italian, and Russian, with a few Germans, Dutch, Poles, Hungarians, Austrians, and some Asians. A good mix, with no one behaving poorly. Staffing Issues: A receptionist shared insights about Maldivian work culture, noting that 60% of young people in Male work at most 50% of the time, spending the rest “chilling.” Work-life balance is emphasized, but often without much work. The result is a massive skills shortage — a problem that we know very well in Europe. Costs: Regarding HB, FB, or AI: We like AI, but only when it’s truly all-inclusive, covering the minibar, bar, and restaurants. We would have also used the money that we spent on expensive wine on site for the very limited all-inclusive. Conclusion: Two weeks barefoot 😁 A very relaxing holiday without luxury but filled with amazing experiences above and below water. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere. Thanks to Naf for always having a smile and a nice chat with us. We won’t return to Eriyadu, but we don’t regret going either.

You have a person assigned to the house you rent who cleans the room regularly and will help you with everything you need - we had the pleasure of meeting MONOWAR, who was irreplaceable! Renovation works are currently taking place on the island, which do not disturb your relaxation. I highly recommend this place!

The food was good but we did go for dinner & tea at the beginning of the service to ensure that it was hot and fresh. We chose this island as we wanted small and the easy to see sea life. This was our first visit to the Maldives and we were really looking forward to the Maldives experience and the holiday of a lifetime but unfortunately this was spoilt as Blue Bay Travel sent 2 emails regarding building work on the island, one just a week before we were due to go, they told us that nobody had complained and that it wouldn’t affect our holiday. The island was taken over by new management in June and we have since found out from other guests that they were shown the plans for the island which are major changes for the future. We have since found out that an inspection was carried out and this work was on the report which clearly means that people where aware and we feel that the island should have shut for a couple of weeks to do a new dive centre and a new jetty all at the same time. The email we received from Blue Bay Travel clearly said that the work was on the 42 year old jetty and the work was preventative maintenance work but this was total incorrect as the work was building a new jetty!

The reality was that the work continued until around 7pm, as our time and date stamped videos demonstrate, making a quiet pre dinner drink in the bar impossible unless you want to watch and listen to a large mechanical excavator. BBT were unconcerned but the hotel management were sympathetic and did their best to ameliorate the nuisance, and after we had complained, work stopped earlier. I would be reluctant in future to believe anything BBT told me about work in resorts. I feel that they were very unfair to the hotel’s management who were the ones having to deal with complaints on the spot and who were unfailingly courteous and did their very best to placate us. The holiday itself: We were met on arrival at Male by a rep from the resort who shepherded us to a waiting area. Our speedboat then whisked us to Eriyadu. We were shown our room, thankfully on the opposite side of the island from the pile diving noise. I think calling it ‘de luxe’ is a bit of an exaggeration, the furniture was plain and utilitarian but perfectly comfortable and about 20 yards from the beautiful beach and very close to the little beach bar. Our room steward Mohammed did a great job, keeping it spick and span, and timed his visits to coincide with our absence on the beach. Lovely to come back and find everything swept and smart. Thank you! There is a great deal of new planting going on all ever the island. Very nice puddings, particularly the various types of brownies. What was particularly outstanding was the quality of the bakery. Everything cooked on the premises, excellent bread and at least three varieties of breakfast donuts every day, Swiss pastries and croissants. We found the house wine perfectly acceptable especially the red. The waiters in the restaurant were unfailingly helpful and attentive, especially John, who ensured we had everything we needed including always a table convenient for me with my impaired mobility. John, you are a star! Many thanks for your kindness. The bar was also staffed by a charmingly helpful crew. (Tiny complaint about a great holiday!) With responsibility for food and beverages, together with a big contribution to stopping the building work on time, we are very grateful to Amitha. He is such a friendly and approachable person and makes great efforts to ensure his guests are having a good time, regardless of their issues with BlueBay. Having stopped visiting the Maldives for a few years because of the tragic coral bleaching we encountered on our last visit, it was good to find so much coral here in good condition and so easy to access. So overall, how was the trip? I loved the island because it has that traditional Maldives feel to it, the food was fantastic and all the staff helpful and friendly. Would we return? I would be happy to do so though I worry that future development would spoil this little gem. I would certainly be fussy about with whom I booked it. Meanwhile huge thanks again to the General Manager and Amitha, Malala, anonymous omelette man, Mohammed our room steward, John, and friendly Durf from the Dive Centre and everyone else we encountered at Eriyadu.

The hotel staff are also very helpful with a special mention to Anna on front desk, Abir who looked after our room, and Rayhan in the restaurant. I echo the comments by other reviewers re the food not being very hot and the rooms being a bit scruffy. I would recommend that if you are considering visiting Eriyadu that you check what contruction work is planned. While we were there the construction of the new jetty began plus 2 new sea walls and a new dive centre. When we mentioned this to our tour company (Mercury Holidays who were very helpful but unaware) the hotel manager came to speak to us which we appreciated. Hi Mark I have forwarded this to our Customer Service team who will be able to clarify for you. The work is very minimal it wouldn't affect your holiday enjoyment but we just obviously need to make you aware of it. We received no response from customer services! This was supposed to be a holiday of a lifetime to the Maldives, tranquil peaceful relaxing. Couldn’t be further from it. Upon reaching this lovely island it was apparent that there was more than a dive centre being constructed in the middle of the island. They were also building a new jetty, and refurbishing a couple of the villas. As we disembarked from the speed boat you could clearly see huge pylons be hammered into the sea bed with a huge digger. Quite clearly mechanical. The staff were all lovely and welcoming. Upon arrival we were checked in and escorted to our villa. Within the first day we requested to be moved as the room 259 was opposite an old concrete pier blocking our view of the sea, not to mention next to the diesel digger. The following day the staff acted upon our request and moved us to our new villa 241 of which we thought was in a lovely position. We visited the Blitz that morning to be greeted with this huge digger at work the noise was horrendous, this went on all day into the evening around 8pm. With bright lights from the digger and the workman shining directly into the bar area. We made our way to the restaurant to be greeted with the loud noise of a cement mixer working away with the workman. This went into the night. We left the restaurant around 8.30pm and it was still running. The next morning early 7am we were then woken to the sound of circular saws and hammering on the dive centre that was being constructed at the rear of the villa. This was not minimal noise! The Blitz bar had no Draught Lager and was served from cans this was the whole of the holiday. The staff at the bar in my opinion were not providing 4 star all inclusive service. You had to go to the bar and order your drinks. Not the level of service I expected. All in all, the holiday was disappointing, we have various video footage and images at different times of the day and evening highlighting what we had to contend with. Although I appreciate that certain levels of maintenance, need to be carried out, this was not minimal light work. There were many people we spoke to on the holiday that were disappointed. Ideally the resort should have been shut, for this work to be carried out. But unfortunately, greedy companies don’t want to lose revenue, so it’s at the expense of the customer. I would like to hear your reply and what compensation you are prepared to offer before I take this to the next stage, if we don’t get an amicable resolve. I will also send this recorded to your head office. Regards Mark and Eilleen Moore

Eriyadu is a classic Maldivian resort, steeped in history and natural beauty. The lush vegetation and stunning house reef create a tranquil oasis. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and the restaurant offers a diverse range of culinary delights. The staff, particularly Bikram and Nurf, were exceptional. Their dedication and friendliness made our stay truly memorable. Bikram went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, while Nurf's professionalism and helpfulness were invaluable. The easy access and abundant marine life, including sharks and turtles, made for unforgettable snorkeling and diving experiences. Overall, Eriyadu offers excellent value for money. It’s a perfect choice for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful getaway. We highly recommend this beautiful resort and thank the staff for their outstanding hospitality.

Wonderful resort . . Eriyadu is one of the original resorts with loads of vegetation and a superb house reef with tons of life. It has very comfortable rooms and the restaurant is good with a large range of food choices. The staff were excellent especially Monowar who went out of his way to look after us. A lovely guy. Nuk on reception was also a stand out member of staff, very professional and went that extra mile / km to help us. The stand out feature is the house reef. Easy to access, healthy coral in parts, and amazing sea life which indicates a healthy reef. Especially sharks and turtles.. all friendly. To sum up, Eriyadu is great value for money, a natural resort with very friendly and professional staff. Huge thanks and big thumbs up from us.

So Eriyadu is not the most luxurious resort in the Maldives and the rooms are a bit tired, but the room was clean, the huge double bed was very comfortable and everything worked well. It's the location that makes these islands special, the beaches are perfect white sand, the house reef is excellent, whether diving or snorkeling. The people are the best thing about this Island, special mentions to the chefs and kitchen managers for organising meals for our particular dietary needs (vegan & vegetarian -dairy free) and allergies. The amazingly low price for a couple of weeks made it even more perfect. Also the dive shop is one of the best run ever!

What a gorgeous small island, 15 minutes to walk all around the island. Its perfect for snorkeling around the house reef, and the room we had (309) was just perfect with a view out to the beach and ocean. The bar has resident black tipped baby sharks swimming in the waters. The staff are all so friendly and obliging, no request to much trouble for them, too many to name but special shout out to dilawar and abdullah at the bar, waheed and chef taqir at the restaurant. Entertainment is low key but that is fine as we are here to relax. As previous comments have mentioned the rooms are a little tired and the resort is in the process of being renovated. The food is standard fare, nice buffet but can get a bit repetitive through the week. But at the end of the day it's the beaches and snorkeling/diving that are just amazing

Bellissima esperienza a livello naturalistico. Il reef è molto bello. La struttura nel complesso è davvero carina. Molto pulita. Passano due volte al giorno. Cibo davvero buono. I prezzi andrebbero riadeguati sicuramente. Nel complesso vacanza carina.

Wow what a fabulous experience! Our room 325 was lovely and spacious with shaded areas around the beach. The room itself was comfortable with huge bed and plenty of storage space for everything we brought. The bathroom / wet room had 2 showers - one Uber the stars and the other over a lovely bath. With 2 entrances one under a covered seating area to the front and the second entrance had a useful foot tap to wash sandy feet and led into the bathroom. Our home for the week was attended to by Mohammed who made our stay very special indeed - he went above and beyond by creating an artwork masterpiece on the bed the night of our engagement - see photo. The resort catering was excellent with lots of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There was a large salad selection and 6 hot dishes as well as a freshly cooked section. The curry’s were lovely and the quality of the meals was very high. We also had a special engagement meal on the beach served by John who made the sunset experience very special indeed. The hotel team were very friendly and we spent several nights with Sally the marketing manager and John who runs a mean Karaoke.

We have just returned from the gorgeous Island of Eriyadu. We spent 10 days there & feel this was the perfect amount of time. From arrival at the airport to farewell from the resort the staff were amazing. Always someone around to answer any questions or inform of any issues. We had a lovely room, 306, which allowed us to walk straight from the room, on to the beach & in the sea. The room was very clean & has everything you need. Taking an extension lead was a good tip as the sockets are not in the easiest of places to get to. You do not need any adapters as all UK 3 pin & also 2 pin for toothbrush chargers & USB were already thought of. The beds are huge & so comfortable, I had some amazing sleep which was very much needed. The restaurant was always clean, tidy & welcoming. The food choices were vast & I never left disappointed. The salad combinations were interesting & all worked, I will be taking some inspiration from the chefs home with me 😋 The grill Chef was amazing, especially in the morning with the Omelette order. We were very well looked after by John, he made sure we always had a table & knew where we liked to sit under the ceiling fans if possible. He always had a smile & greeted us so warmly. Special mention also to Rayhan & Noorey, who also made sure we had everything we needed. A great team. Now the best bit, the beach, reef & drop to the ocean!! Wow, I didn't really know what to expect. The only way to describe the reef, is like snorkelling in an actual aquarium. So much marine life, fish of every size & colour swimming all around you. We swam with sharks 🦈 I did have to remind myself to breath the first time one came up the drop, face first looking at me, they do just swim straight pass you 😂 The turtles 🐢 they are so graceful & we were very lucky to spot a ray on our last swim too. The beach is white sand with lots of tiny hermit crabs, which gave us hours of amusement watching them moving around & making patterns in the sand. All the better watching with a cocktail in your hand too 😉 Whilst relaxing on the beach, keep an eye out on the water, as we were treated to a pod of dolphins swimming by 🐬 Finally, the reason why 4 & not 5 stars is because of the work being done to upgrade the Island. We were told by Blue Bay that this would have none or minimal disruption to our holiday. No heavy machinery & limited hours of work & only the upgrade to the Dive centre. Unfortunately, half way through our holiday this was not the case at all. There are several areas of work going on. One was a few rooms down from us & sometimes the noise did grate on me but I just grabbed my snorkel & took myself off. Then a large digger arrived along with construction material to start on a new jetty. We were told by resort staff that this should be a couple of days but this is still going on as we left & feel it will be like this for quite a while to come. The final 2 days the work started at 8.30am & did not stop until after 7.15pm!! The disruption in the water did making our final snorkelling a little murky. However, we have returned home with some amazing memories & met some wonderful people. If you are going soon, try not to let the work spoil your holiday & just get out in the reef quickly to melt any concerns away.

ARRIVAL. We have recently returned from our 8th trip to the Maldives, this time staying at the Eriyadu Island Resort. We had a great holiday and enjoyed every minute of it, but we always do. We booked with Blue Bay Travel and flew with Etihad airways and had the All Inclusive Plus option. After we got through immigration and customs at Male Airport we were informed that we would have to wait for 3 hours for another couple of guests arriving from China before getting on the speedboat to the island. This was not ideal and thankfully it turned out to be around 2 and a half hours. Upon arrival at Eriyadu the check-in was swift and efficient. Without doubt the star of the reception was a man called NUF, who was of tremendous assistance to us throughout our holiday. ACCOMODATION. Our bungalow was very much like others we have experienced in the Maldives, and well equipped and clean. The A/C worked to perfection and except for having to turn off the temperature light (very bright at night), we never had to adjust it for the whole holiday. The bed was enormous and comfortable and the bathroom was very clean complete with an open-air shower, a feature which we always enjoyed on past holidays. Our room boy, VIKRAM, was marvellous, cleaning and replenishing consumables twice a day for which we were grateful as we were not too good at keeping the sand out! We had a few problems with condensation/fogging on some of our devices at first which was due to these items spending time in the airconditioned main room and then being taken outside. The biggest problem was with my wifes’ mobile phone which refused to charge due a moisture alert, but the ever efficient NUF in reception sorted it out and after that we kept cameras etc in the bathroom where there is no aircon. We were on the north side of the island which gave us some wonderful sun rises if we were up at 5:45am! RESTAURANT/FOOD. There 2 seating areas to the restaurant, and both were serviced by a very attentive team of staff. Very special mentions to Nuzufa, Nimesh and the wonderful Ijlal (aka ‘difficult’) for their fantastic work. All the meals were served ‘buffet style’ and sometimes a bit repetitive after a week or so. And I am a very fussy eater, but always found enough to satisfy myself, even having to choose a few unconventional varieties! Highlights were the roast beef, chicken and egg drop soup, plenty of chicken/fish dishes and options for vegans and vegetarians. Breakfast was the same choices almost each day, but no shortage of options. Lunch was highlighted by having lovely ice cream which we believed was made in-house, and the choice of desserts at the evening meal were very extensive - they do some fantastic Panna Cottas! Thanks to all the chefs and cooks for their efforts. BAR. We spent most evenings sat on the terrace with a drink watching the sunsets and passing sharks etc. The entertainment could be somewhat hit and miss. The musicians who came in from Male were very pleasing, and the Dive Team put on some good quizzes and videos. The Karaoke evening (twice a week) could only be described as painful, despite the brave work by the staff members. Having said that, there were some pretty good Italian guests who shone above all others. The bar staff were mega-efficient! Upon entry you placed your order at the bar and then found yourself a seat. No matter how well you tried to hide they always found you to deliver your drinks – brilliant! Our thanks to all the staff in the Blitz bar. We did eat one lunch at the bar (not AI) and can recommend the burgers and the Eriyadu Club chicken sandwich. BEACH BAR. We did visit the beach bar on occasion and found that it was sometimes difficult to locate the barman! However, we did enjoy the times we had there, particularly watching an entertaining game of volleyball. POOL. We made good use of the swimming pool area during our stay and never had a problem getting one of the day beds even though there were only 7 of them. The pool was always clean and cool (not cold!) and being next to the bar made it a really nice place to spend some time. BEACHES AND FAUNA. What can you say….lovely clean white sand, palm trees etc, but if you were not careful a few ‘sharp bits’ could be found underfoot. Away from the beach there are some very tall trees which are very well populated with Fruit Bats which were captivating to watch. The island gardening staff were very busy planting out hundreds of new plants around the room areas which was surprising when you consider what lies ahead in the future years (see below). There are some interesting lizards to be seen, and the Maldivian Waterhens are a pleasant distraction. Note: We never saw an ant, anywhere, which is unusual. THE BITERS. Yes, we did get bitten by some invisible and sneaky bugs, but not in our room, due to the coolness of the aircon. But the communal areas were a different story! You could be “hit” in the bar, restaurant and pool areas so take plenty of repellents. Another tip – if you decide to use your room sun loungers then put them on the beach rather than under the vegetation, you will get bitten less. SNORKELLING. We are not into diving, but the snorkelling is our main attraction. We were last in the Maldives in 2021, and before that 2018, and we were very pleased to see that, on the whole, the coral has recovered very well since the bad years of 2016-2017. The abundance of sea life on the house reef was amazing! So many species of reef fish, 3 types of sharks, Parrot fish, angels and butterfly fish – wonderful. We only saw one Moray Eel, and one small Octopus and sadly, NO RAYS, which was a little disappointing. After a week we had not spotted a Turtle, then the amazing NUF said ‘go there’ and we did. Just around 40mtrs from the beach and there was a Turtle just where he said! Saw them everyday after that. We did not take part in any of the excursions, never saw the need, but others were praising them highly. THE FUTURE. Over the next few years there are going to be massive changes to Eriyadu. These have already begun with a new Dive Centre being built, and a new Luxury bungalow taking shape at the eastern end if the island. These were absolutely not a hindrance to our stay. Plans include, a new pool, the bar changing to be the restaurant, reception relocating to where the restaurant is now, and the 2 room ‘blocks’ are going to be demolished and replaced by luxury bungalows with plunge pools. Both jetties will disappear (just as well, any safety inspector from UK/EU would condemn them in seconds) and a new replacement constructed. SUMMARY. We always enjoy our holidays at the Maldives and Eriyadu was no exception. The staff are amazing and make your trip a very happy memory. We would certainly advise anybody to visit this resort and we will give a return trip very serious consideration.

We went to this holiday as a relaxing - doing nothing holiday to recharge our batteries. The speedboat journey around 45 minutes to the Island was such a beautiful start, it was so much fun, seeing other islands on the way. On Eriyadu we were greeted warmly by the Reception Staff. The island was perfect for us, very small, you can walk around it in 15 minutes. Our villa was on the East side and we could see the beach and water from the veranda. The villa itself had a very spacious bedroom, perfectly cooled by AC. I do need to mention how I appreciated the big mirrors in bedroom and bathroom, often too small for tall people in hotels, yet these were wonderful. The spacious bathroom, a wetroom had a fantastic shower, open on the top so we could see the palmtrees while showering. When it rained it felt real fun, who can shower in the rain? The villa had 2 entrance doors, one to the bathroom and one to the bedroom. Practical was the tap outside the bathroom door, as the sandy feet could be washed before going inside. Another plus was the rack outside on the veranda to hang up all wet clothing. Within a day everything was dry. Lovely Imran cleaned the rooms twice a day, laid the duvet beautifully in the evening. Everything was spotless clean. An assett to the housekeeping team. Food was amazing, always buffet with a big choice, something there for everyone. I particularly enjoyed all the fish dishes. Fruit, salads always freshly prepared and beautifully presented. Thank you to all the chefs, specially Nakala Sampat who walked around to see everything was fine. The staff in the restaurant also need a special mention. Specially Rayhan greeted and served us with a warm beaming smile and was always there when we needed anything. A credit to the team. Noorey always informed us of any events they can offer us, dinner by the beach etc. and addressed us by name, it made us feel part of the family. Noticable was that there were hardly any flies and no flies while eating. All the staff worked hard to on Halloween night, the decoration was amazing. We had great fun. In the Spa, we had a beautiful massage, with lovely staff, Vineetha and her team are wonderful. We hired snorkel kits and canooes in the Diving center . Snorkeling is a must here to see all the fish, we only see in Aquariums in my part of the world. We saw reef sharks and of course a lovely turtle. We snorkeled every day and every day we dicovered new fish. The staff again was very helpful and friendly. Each evening was different entertainment in the bar. A Quiznight and an Information night about turtles and Marinelife- organised by the staff of the diving centre was really fantastic and very informative. There were music evenings with good musicians, Karaoke evenings etc. As we particularly love nature, we loved walking under the palmtrees, the Sea lettuce, Banana trees, Hibiscus and all other plants. So fantstic. The Island seems untouched, even the bins blend perfectly in. It was great to see that young plants and trees are nursed to be planted. As there are changes ahead as we heard, I do hope the island will still keep its jungly and natural feel which makes the Island very special. Watching sunrises and sunsets, lying in the sun lounger, having a drink from the beach bar, listing to the waves, watching differnt lizards, Fruitbats, Whitecrested Waterhens with their chicks passing, many Hermitcrabs running along - all was part of our relaxing holiday. Nature and all the beautiful staff makes this island very special, I totally recommend to visit it. By the way the water really is that clear, turquoise and clean as on all the brochure pictures. Thank you to everyone who made our holiday a dream holiday.

This is a little gem in the Maldives it's a very small island with the most wonderful staff. The accommodation is what you'd expect in the Maldives, straight out from your room on to the beach. As already mentioned the rooms are tired but very clean and looked after. It's not 5 star but the staff make up for that The snorkeling around the island is excellent, because of the house reef and shallow waters Special thanks to the marvellous bar staff Iman, Deluor,Abdullah, Rasu and Hirusha. Don't hesitate to come here, you won't be disappointed
