Home from the best week ever! ||Stayed in water villa 604 and some of the most spectacular sunset views. The villa is huge , immaculately clean and with a personal butler .||Food was incredible - authentic traditional food that was cooked fresh for you with plenty of choice. The salads and desserts were lovely. We’ve been all inclusive all around the world and the food was up there with the best.||You get the same table for all meals and same waitress. We had Harsha look after us and she really is the most incredible person. Really knowledgeable about the island too which is good as she gave us lots of little tips for things to do.||The water / beaches are paradise. One side of the island is facing inwards towards the atoll and it’s like a|Millpond. Tranquil and beautiful. The other side is a bit more corally and wavy and good for snorkelling. We saw lots of fish, turtle and manta ray .||Tips:||- Take beach shoes|- When walking round the island of a night use your phone torch as it’s quite dark|- We tipped waitress , roomboy and Butler at end of stay so take USD.|- Factor 50+ suncream & a bay! Don’t use anything lower unless you want to burn! The suns rays are so intense. We didn’t burn but saw lots of families rhay had and it ruins your holiday.|- Male airport is chaos but don’t worry the people and other reps are very helpful if you can’t find south palm one.||We got lucky with the connecting flight from Male to Gan and only had to wait 45 mins but spoke to others who had a 6 hr wait at Gan. There is a lounge by all Accounts that was $50 and others said it was worth it. ||If you want a traditional authentic Maldivian experience- this is your place.||It’s not the marble and glitz of celebrity Maldives but it’s charming, clean, great food, incredible staff and idyllic beach’s and views. We will be back 100%. ||Thanks for a wonderful holiday ☀️

Прочитал два отзыва с оценкой 1-2звезды...ну не знаю видимо на этих людюх *сошелся клином белый свет* отдыхаем в этом отеле, полная противоположность каждой описаной ситуации: из аэропорта 20 минут на лодке и ты на месте, сразу напитки хочешь коктейли, хочешь...ну что угодно! Еда в ресторане: приходили к закрытию - это супер на выбор всегда! Овощи, фрукты,рыба, курица, говядина на выбор гриль, жареное, тушеное или "спайси", очередей нет вообще, алкашку приносят быстро любую (вино, пиво и тд и тп всё не разливуха при тебе открывают банку пива).Персонал просто супер, не успел допить коктейль тебя уже спрашивают "Ван моо?" Заход в море :надо брать только *Бич виллу* у них вход в море просто сказка, белоснежный песок (мука), коралки не нужны, вода просто супер, прозрачная сказка! На Мальдивах третий раз и каждый раз-это новый остров. Так что, поверьте, здесь тоже супер! Люди, берите именно Beach villa и будет вам счастье)) Большой привет Вадиму, Насте и из Магадана!!!

If there is a more delightful destination to experience from the standpoint of atmosphere, amenities, scenery and hospitality, I have yet to experience it. From the moment we landed in Malé, a friendly representative from the resort greeted us to take us to the nearby Moonima Lounge where we could relax, eat and drink before our departure flight to the resort.||||A few hours later, the non-stop flight on Maldivian Airlines itself was amazing, despite their highly questionable luggage vs. carry-on policies. We arrived at Gan International Airport after a 1h 40m flight (with a personalized gift from Maldivian Airlines of our "Equator Crossing Certificate"). 🌏||||Upon arriving at GAN, we (and our luggage porters) had a mere 5 minute walk from the terminal to the covered pier where we were met with waiting speedboats to take us all on the 20 minutes, or so, journey to the resort upon some of the most pristine, and clean, azure blue water I've ever seen.||||Arriving at the resort itself was so remarkable that I would have sworn I was being filmed for an episode of Fantasy Island! The next several days there truly cemented my feelings of being in a place unlike any other on earth.||||Our accommodations included both a stunning Over The Water Villa AND and a "sneak peek" stay at their brand new, very exclusive Private Pool Villa (which is not yet open to booking as of today's date). 🤫||||Our Full-Board dining plan included buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner dining at their Banyan Restaurant which has to be staffed by some of the best chefs and servers in the world! With an incredibly delicious variety of international cuisine and fresh seafood, I was blown away by the range of food options being served at what I would consider to be a 5 ⭐️ level. A foodies haven, for sure!||||The accommodations were exceptionally clean, well maintained and serviced and also included (unbeknownst to me when I booked the vacation) a delightful butler, or "personal concierge", who made sure that our every need was accounted for and that we knew about the wide range of activities and amenities the resort had to offer and even introduced us to the island's unofficial "mascot" 🐦 upon our arrival.||||The excursions we enjoyed were also quite memorable and included dolphin watching, sunset snorkeling, sunset fishing, a sumptuous floating breakfast and lavish farewell beachside dinner for two.||||This vacation would not have been nearly as enjoyable were it not for the warmth, kindness, generosity and graciousness of the entire staff at the resort. There wasn't a moment that we ever felt that our needs could not be addressed and our requests would go unheeded. ||||The staff epitomized a true attention to thoughtfulness and detail and it was clear that every person (from our extremely talented villa attendant to the CEO) would do whatever it took to ensure we would leave their resort with memories to last a lifetime. We just returned from our holiday to South Palm, as previously reading a lot of reviews from the other travellers we wanted to share our thoughts with you, good and bad.

||We booked our holiday thru BlueBayTravel (please check notes at the end if you’re thinking to book with them)

||For a quick summary here are some notes:

||Overall: 7/10. We’ll go back? Probably No (The world is so big and you have so many choices, so why limit. Plus getting there it is a bit tiring, maybe choose something closer to Male, without the need for a flight connection, maybe only a speedboat)
||- Room: 7/10|- View from the room : 10/10|- Cleanliness: 10/10|- Services / Staff: 10/10|- Food: 9/10|- Restaurant: 6/10|- Atmosphere: 6/10|- Bar: 7/10|- Romantic: 5/10|- SPA: 8/10|- Pool: 9/10|- Price/quality: 8/10

||I will start with the positives:

||- Staff is great, they are trying to make you feel as comfortable as possible, we are a very low maintenance couple, not fussy at all. We had only one request for our stay, to have a table in the restaurant next to the window, once we requested that, we had it. Thank you Salman, Saif, Arif, and all of you who made sure we’re had a good time||- The view from the room (we stayed in 206, Palm Villa) is absolutely perfect, and we think from all the other types of the villas the Palm Beach ones (numbers with 2XX) are the best. And access to the beach.||- Food is great, the selection of the cuisines and the quality is good. Depends of course of everyone expectations, but as a foodie lover, when I’m going to a different country I just want to try more of the local food than the food that I’m used at home. I uploaded more food pics, because I think current photos don’t do justice to the choices the restaurant offers.
||For example there is the pasta bar, where they can cook pasta’s on requirements as you wish. I haven’t used that for the entire week, so I cannot say how good it is, but I’m sure it will be fine.

We mainly ate dishes from local cuisine, from curries to soups, which I was very satisfied to try. No complains at all. As you will see in the pics uploaded, we have tried a lot of dishes.

||We’ve seen previously a few reviews where the people were complain about the food and choices. For us, in Jan 2024 I couldn’t disagree more, there are choices for everyone. The only part which I thing is not as great are the deserts, but hey, it’s South India, not France :)
||- The water activities are great, we went to see the dolphins and for snorkeling. Cannot recommend both of them highly enough.||- If you want to stay at the pool, it is really nice, very relaxing.||- For us it was amazing to see for the first time (live, not on TV) the hermit crabs. They are absolutely amazing, it’s such a delight to watch them. We spent hours looking at the small creatures :)))||- SPA is good, we had the balinese massage. 
||- Sky in the nighttime is mind-blowing.

|||What can be improved, I will not say negatives, but definitely some things would make the stay there more enjoyable:||- Aircon in the restaurant. I know that we all go there for sun and hot weather, and this is what you get, but it is hard to eat when you’re continuously sweating (I know, it’s Asia, you’ll not find too many aircon’s in the restaurants, but lunch was certainly an uncomfortable meal and we felt we could not fully enjoy the food because it simply was too hot inside.||- Lights. This is one big issue, after the sunset (6.30pm ish), it’s so dark everywhere, from outside of the restaurant, bar, reception, to the walkways and back of the rooms. There is just way too little to no light, you need to use your phone light to not step on the cute little hermit crabs which are everywhere and to see where you’re going.

||Adding solar powered lights especially outside of the rooms around the trees where now there is only one very very weak wall light would create a more pleasant ambiance and would make it relaxing to stay out of the room on the swing or the sun lounges but after sunset it is completely dark. 

||On the bar area will improve the atmosphere a lot putting some candle lights on the tables… I’m sure most of the guests of the resort are couples, and this would will improve create a more intimate/romantic atmosphere||- Bathroom to be closed off for 2 reasons: |
1) my wife uses some face products but when you have the bathroom outside and you’re sweating it will be hard to apply them on your skin. |
2) privacy window between room and bathroom that is completely transparent - a shutter would help and would also keep the room dark after sunrise if you want to sleep in after sunrise (6am ish), personally I cannot sleep if there is light in the room.||- Mirror in the room. I’m sure most ladies will have a mirror in their home to see how they dressed up or whatever, will be a good addition. Even a small one.||The trip started not as great for us as our plane was delayed for an hour (landed 10.30am instead of 9.40 am) and we missed the connection flight in Male (11.50am). The hotel representative meet us and she asked why we are late, because we just missed the flight… (well… I’m not flying the airplane, it is out of my hand, not something that we could do).. and she said: ok, I have put you on the 23.30 flight to Gan… I thought it isn’t a great start at all… over 12h to wait in the airport and being questioned why the flight was delayed after an 11 hours long flight. Not the best start to an expensive holiday and we did not feel very welcome, there was a very strong lack of courtesy and respect to a paying customer. 

||She managed to book us on the next flight (16.45) but it was really stressful and we didn’t know if we’ll be boarding that or not until 16.15 after the checkin for the flight was over. ||In the end we got at the resort at 8pm in complete darkness but I think they need to handle this better with the airline, because I’m sure it is not the only flight that was a bit late. So we basically missed the whole first day of our holiday.||Our biggest issue is that there was no provision in place to reassure us that we will be helped to get to the hotel in the shortest time possible and we had the feeling that nobody cared about our comfort.||Again, we really are very low maintenance reasonable people however after an 11+ hours long flight getting out from the plane in 28C+ our weak European bodies started to sweat instantly and we felt light headed and very keen to get to a shower asap. ||We were not offered any complementary refreshments and a bottled water in the airport costs $6.5 and an expresso is $4 - this is a comment for the travel agency as we bought a package and it would be good practice to have contingency plans to deal with delays and make sure clients feel valued and not blamed about things completely out of their control. ||Taking responsibility for the experience you sell and caring about how people feel after they pay your fees is good customer service and makes people come back, not the case here.

||To leave the resort for our return was crazy… the flight from Male was at 11.30am, but we left the resort just before 3am. Absolutely bonkers - we had to wake up at 1.30am.||

You’d think that if you’re paying extra for direct flights from London to Male, instead of having another stop over extra it will get you there (and back) in a lot less time that over 24 hours, not over 24-28h.

||That’s a big issue and you are not aware about time schedule of the internal flights (BlueBayTravel it's saying only "domestic transfer", but no timings). 

If you plan to go there, go for 10 days, not only 7.| |It’s just not enough when you’re spending so much time on the trips/connections/airports.||
We booked the holiday thru BlueBayTravel. First time for us using them. I’m not sure if it was only one time, but it was a very strange experience booking it online as you can’t complete the booking and pay for the holiday online as the price on the website is not final and is subject to change.

||After choosing the dates, flights, etc normally you’ll just pay online. No, got a message that they will contact me for the reservation.

||When they did, after a couple hours they told me the price increased from £3467 (around that amount it was showed on the listing) to over £3700 (for 2 adults).||

After a few conversations with them, a lot of time spent on the phone, they “discounted” it to £3667. So that’s £200 extra for nothing, just cheeky with the prices.

||Even checking the price second day on the website, or a few days or a couple weeks after the price showed was still the £3467, NOT £3667. So, misleading prices, not “there are not the live prices that we see in our system”. Not ok for a big travel company. That’s false advertising.||Many thanks to the Virgin cabin crew, they were very friendly and helpful and made the flight very pleasant and comfortable.||All in all, this was a pleasant getaway for a few days from the cold UK January weather but travel wise things did not go smoothly and to have this happen when you’re so far away from home is not a good start for a holiday, professionalism could be much improved in this respect and perhaps more training to staff when it comes to greeting clients and dealing with unforeseen situations.

The housekeeping staff are very welcoming, the ocean is beautiful, breakfast and dinner are different every day, I saw turtles, dolphins and octopuses, the four-hand massage is worth it, Shaamin is a great person, and the bath towels are very fragrant. The DJ in the bar is very good at playing music.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough! By far the best service we’ve had during our stay in Maldives after a horrible experience at a neighboring resort (not to mention any names but it rhymes with ‘can reef’)|Our server during the breakfast lunch and dinner was superb. Athif went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our meals. ||The food quality and the options are great. The fresh juices are amazing. ||We encountered a small problem at check in but the manager was attentive and quickly had a solution to our problem. ||The staff are always smiling and take care of the slightest detailed to make sure you’re having a great time. They always provide activities for the guests to mingle and get to know each other. They ALWAYS ask you about your stay with them and if everything is okay or if you need anything. ||If I were to open a hotel I’d hire the entire staff in a blink of an eye.

Ho alloggiato in una palm villa direttamente sulla spiaggia sul lato selle acque interne all'atollo. . Niente reef, niente pesci, solo pezzetti di coralli morti. La spiaggia è corta e sul retro , lato oceano, la spiaggia è molto molto piccola. Rispetto ad altri atolli visitati in precedenza, questo è stato deludente. Per fare snorkelling si fa una escursione al costo si 75dollari a persona! I tetti delle ville sono rivestiti in lamiera e quando piove è impossibile dormire a causa del rumore assordante. Malgrado fosse stagione secca, in 7 giorni solo 2 erano soleggiati, mentre per 5 giorni pioggia a dirotto giorno e notte. La pulizia della camera era molto approssimativa: il pavimento mai lavato, lenzuola mai cambiate in una settimana. |Nota positiva il cibo fresco, il cuoco molto attento alle esigenze di chi come me presenta allergie. ||

Mon troisième séjour en 4 ans au South Palm et c’est encore et toujours un rêve éveillé ! J’ai qu’une hâte c’est d’y retourner encore et encore ! La direction et le personnel toujours souriant sont des personnes extraordinaires attachantes et sympathiques. Ils sont toujours aux petits soins pour rendre votre séjour incroyable. Beaucoup de joie avec chacun d’entres eux lors de mes séjours. La qualité des échanges est excellente et enthousiasmante ! Ce sont devenus des amis ! Les chambres sont spacieuses et très confortables avec chacune sa vue sur ce cadre idyllique. Une vraie carte postale. La douche extérieure des beach Villas est juste magique. Côté pension le buffet est époustouflant de variétés de choix et de très grande qualité. Ne vous priver pas de manger du poisson tous les jours….un régal ! Hotel parfait pour se reposer et se déconnecter d’une vie active stressante. Le snorkeling peut être pratiquer sans aucun danger autour de l’île. Vous y verrez tous les poissons tropicaux au delà de votre imagination ! Sans oublier le centre de plongée sous marine qui vient de passer sous bannière SSI diamond C’est à dire l’excellence dans le domaine. Le centre est accessible directement sur l’île. Le cadre du centre de massage et spa est enchanteur avec ses petites huttes sur pilotis au milieu du lac marin figurant au centre de l’île. L’hotel est un écrin de verdure au milieu de l’océan indien ! Le paradis existe au South Palm Resort Maldives ! À vivre….et revivre ! 🏝️❤️🐠🐟🐡🐬 Fred

This is one of the most difficult places to review. So many positives but also some negatives. One thing we had to do was manage our expectations of how much we paid for a 4 star resort in Maldives. We paid £4500 for Water Villa, Butler, Snorkelling trip and 15 minute massage. Good price for Maldives, Blu Bay travel. If for this price you’re looking for 5 Star luxury, this is not for you. Spend double and that’s what your get, If you want a more rustic Maldivian experience at a good price, then this is for you. Firstly, you have to understand that this is a remote Island and getting there is long, We started at Gatwick Airport, 7 hours to Dubai, 2 hour to connect, 4 hours to Male, 5 hours to wait for internal flight at Male.( please note! There is no free use of lounge, it has stopped and you will have to pay £50 each! From make 1hour 40 mins, into Gan, whisked away straight away to speed boat,20 minutes to Island. This is by far the hardest journey we have ever experienced. It not off the faint hearted. No mention of this when we booked. Resort We arrived for 10 nights, do not book anything less as you can imagine the jet lag. Resort: First impression was not great I have to admit, very basic and quite rustic.It does however grow on you, because it’s so clam and relaxing. No cars on Island just electric buggies to take you around, like taxis. No fumes, light pollution and just total relaxation. Accommodation: We had water villas. It was substantial and good AC.It was immaculately cleaned twice a day, massive 50 inch TV.(Tip: take your fire stick and plug in back!) Two bottles of water supplied daily. Steps leading to water, amazing! Snorkelling everyday! Go at high tide, Sharks, rays giant grouper, turtles just amazing!!! Food: If you’re looking for European, American fast processed food, this is not for you. If you like authentic food like Mongolian curry, Indian, Chinese then this is for you! I personally found the food amazing but that’s because I love this sort of food. Yes it’s buffet but it’s all cooked fresh at the cooking stations. You will not find full English breakfast! No bacon! Great egg station, pancakes, pastries. More than enough variety! Yes there is no AC in restaurant, and it is hot. What you have to understand that the electricity is generated and they only have a limited supply, hence why there is restriction on lights etc. I would suggest sitting by the window ad there is always s breeze. Staff: Waiters, Bar attendants, buggie drivers. You will not meet nicer, friendlier people.Really make this place. You have same server everyday and table. Service was 5star! Butler: Well we never saw him and a bit of a gimmick.To be fair we didn’t want to bother him , but he could have made more effort. All inclusive: Never had to go to bar, you sit and they will bring your drinks. Whenever my glass was nearly empty they would refill. Beer war canned which I preferred. Spirits were local and not the best. Overall package is well worth it as prices are eye watering.I definitely would not go here if it’s not all inclusive. Yes it’s true, no drinks allowed back to room.You have to sign every time you leave, which made no sense. There is another bar which you had to pay. Never once saw anyone in here and total waste! No sense staffing this everyday and not used for all inclusive. Just ridiculous really. Trip: Dolphin trip is a must! There were literally hundreds, you will not be disappointed! Snorkelling was fantastic and part of the package. Massage amazing! There are canoes to use for free. Paddle boards are rubbish, don’t bother. Water sport staff very good and friendly.Safe environment for children. Overall: Would I go back? The journey to get here is just too much. When we left they flew to another Island to drop off and pick up. We were not informed! We endured 4 take offs and landings and this is a nightmare if you don’t like flying! No use of courtesy lounge on arrival! Why would you stop this! It is definitely required if you want people to return. We never knew there was a 5 hour wait when we arrived! Airport is chaotic and not a great experience. Seriously you need to offer the lounge free of charge!!! We loved the time on the Island and the staff was amazing. We will not return because it’s just too far and the journey is just not worth the end result. This is hard to say because I loved the staff and the Island and feels a bit harsh but I had to be honest to others visiting.

Были в этом отеле в июле 2022 года. Почему-то не долго руки написать отзыв ранее. Отель выбрали за три минуты ориентируясь на цену и картинки букинга. За 7 ночей по системе все вкл отдали 240 тр. Из плюсов: встретили в Мале, ответ в бизнес лаунж отдохнуть, посадили на местный самолет и дали нам места в бизнес классе- приятно. В отеле быстро заселили в виллу с выходом к лагуне. Номер хороший, претензий к нему нет, все устроило. На этом плюсы закончились. Мы 5 раз были на Мальдивах и нам есть с чем сравнивать, так вот этот остров не Мальдивы с рекламного проспекта, ни песочка качественного, ни еды нормальной, ни алкоголя. Пляж убогий это слабо сказано, со стороны лагуны еще куда ни шло, с противоположной стороны, где бассейн пляжа нет. Очень не повезло тем, кто жил на камнях вместо песка. Выбор еды очень скудный, все что уже приготовлено есть невозможно, спасались грилем. Фруктов мало. Алкоголь индийский льют, коктейли ужас, вино пакетированное из порошка :) Вывод : если вы впервые на Мальдивах то вам понравится, но это не точно) своим друзьям я бы не посоветовала, особенно учитывая цену сейчас. Ах да…рифа доступного там не нет ….

I stayed at the South Palm Resort for two week in January and I want to write some things I would have liked to know myself before booking this resort. We booked via Bluebay Travel in the UK and I would suggest you to be very careful when booking with them because not only we were not advised that this hotel is VERY FAR from Male but we also told that because as we arrive in Male at 14:00 the internal 1h and 40 min flight to Gan was only at 23:00 so if we wanted to arrive for the midday Gan flight we need to change our Emirates Flight that they booked. We ended up paying £450 extra 2 days before departure otherwise we would have arrived at the hotel at 2 AM. Not to mention that if you are flying on departure at 11:00 from Male you will leave the hotel at 3AM, which makes you journey endless. The best thing about this resort is the staff! They are so genuine, hard working and friendly. We had a beach villa, initially we were given 108 but our first night was horrible because the villa is just opposite the bar where the night music goes on until midnight. We also had our 15 months old baby with us so we knew straightaway we had to move rooms next day which was an inconvenience also because we only unpacked a few hours before to have to pack and move the next day. We explained the situation to the reception and they changed us to 129 which was far away from the bar and therefore quiet. The rooms are basic, the coffee station inside has just instant coffee, tea and kettle. While I understand this isn’t a 5* and not expecting to have a luxurious experience there was a very bad smell coming from the toilet and the issues was the sewage. We were happy to see the room had an A/C however the air was not cold. We had it on 18 degrees C always but the room was constantly warm. We told reception that most probably the A/C is out of Freon but nothing was done. The minibar was all chargeable besides the water which would be provided twice a day or on request if needed. The cleaning was also done twice a day and it was pretty good. Now, one of the most disappointing parts for us was the restaurant. We found that there was a lot of Asian Spicy Food. There was about 20-30 things to choose from but more of half would be curries and rices. As we are more used to a Mediterranean diet it was very hard for us to choose what we eat especially for our baby. They had french fries once a week and then they would fry the fries on spot so you would have to wait 10-15 minutes as people were queuing. This is just an example but I feel like you had to wait constantly for certain foods which could have been made in big bunches and let for people to serve themselves. Salads were not great and also the worst part the fruit choices. For two weeks we eat watermelon, melon and apples. Rarely you would see passion fruit and that was the only exotic fruit we saw. In two weeks we had ice cream (two flavours) ONCE! If you wanted some you had to pay! I mean, how expensive is to have ice lollies available during the meals and day considering the temperature outside are 30 degrees or more every single day? The only coffee available would be filtered coffee. You wanted an espresso you had to pay, you wanted a cappuccino that was extra pay.I understand it’s not 5* but is this so expensive to have some coffee machines for people to get a cappuccino or an espresso? The beaches are clean and the water is ok but not what you see in Maldives pictures. That’s because there are spots in the water with lots of seagrass so this doesn’t allow you to enjoy the water. Lots of stones when you get into the water so you need sea water shoes. I want to say many thanks to our waiter Harsha who was incredible. In conclusion, this hotel is worth only if you find a deal that makes it half priced or more from other 5* hotels but if you find a difference of £1000-£1500 I would suggest you to book a 5* which is closer to Male preferably via speedboat.

Home from the best week ever! Stayed in water villa 604 and some of the most spectacular sunset views. The villa is huge , immaculately clean and with a personal butler . Food was incredible - authentic traditional food that was cooked fresh for you with plenty of choice. The salads and desserts were lovely. We’ve been all inclusive all around the world and the food was up there with the best. You get the same table for all meals and same waitress. We had Harsha look after us and she really is the most incredible person. Really knowledgeable about the island too which is good as she gave us lots of little tips for things to do. The water / beaches are paradise. One side of the island is facing inwards towards the atoll and it’s like a Millpond. Tranquil and beautiful. The other side is a bit more corally and wavy and good for snorkelling. We saw lots of fish, turtle and manta ray . Tips: - Take beach shoes - When walking round the island of a night use your phone torch as it’s quite dark - We tipped waitress , roomboy and Butler at end of stay so take USD. - Factor 50+ suncream & a bay! Don’t use anything lower unless you want to burn! The suns rays are so intense. We didn’t burn but saw lots of families rhay had and it ruins your holiday. - Male airport is chaos but don’t worry the people and other reps are very helpful if you can’t find south palm one. We got lucky with the connecting flight from Male to Gan and only had to wait 45 mins but spoke to others who had a 6 hr wait at Gan. There is a lounge by all Accounts that was $50 and others said it was worth it. If you want a traditional authentic Maldivian experience- this is your place. It’s not the marble and glitz of celebrity Maldives but it’s charming, clean, great food, incredible staff and idyllic beach’s and views. We will be back 100%. Thanks for a wonderful holiday ☀️

Прочитал два отзыва с оценкой 1-2звезды...ну не знаю видимо на этих людюх *сошелся клином белый свет* отдыхаем в этом отеле, полная противоположность каждой описаной ситуации: из аэропорта 20 минут на лодке и ты на месте, сразу напитки хочешь коктейли, хочешь...ну что угодно! Еда в ресторане: приходили к закрытию - это супер на выбор всегда! Овощи, фрукты,рыба, курица, говядина на выбор гриль, жареное, тушеное или "спайси", очередей нет вообще, алкашку приносят быстро любую (вино, пиво и тд и тп всё не разливуха при тебе открывают банку пива).Персонал просто супер, не успел допить коктейль тебя уже спрашивают "Ван моо?" Заход в море :надо брать только *Бич виллу* у них вход в море просто сказка, белоснежный песок (мука), коралки не нужны, вода просто супер, прозрачная сказка! На Мальдивах третий раз и каждый раз-это новый остров. Так что, поверьте, здесь тоже супер! Люди, берите именно Beach villa и будет вам счастье)) Большой привет Вадиму, Насте и из Магадана!!!

If there is a more delightful destination to experience from the standpoint of atmosphere, amenities, scenery and hospitality, I have yet to experience it. From the moment we landed in Malé, a friendly representative from the resort greeted us to take us to the nearby Moonima Lounge where we could relax, eat and drink before our departure flight to the resort. A few hours later, the non-stop flight on Maldivian Airlines itself was amazing, despite their highly questionable luggage vs. carry-on policies. We arrived at Gan International Airport after a 1h 40m flight (with a personalized gift from Maldivian Airlines of our "Equator Crossing Certificate"). 🌏 Upon arriving at GAN, we (and our luggage porters) had a mere 5 minute walk from the terminal to the covered pier where we were met with waiting speedboats to take us all on the 20 minutes, or so, journey to the resort upon some of the most pristine, and clean, azure blue water I've ever seen. Arriving at the resort itself was so remarkable that I would have sworn I was being filmed for an episode of Fantasy Island! The next several days there truly cemented my feelings of being in a place unlike any other on earth. Our accommodations included both a stunning Over The Water Villa AND and a "sneak peek" stay at their brand new, very exclusive Private Pool Villa (which is not yet open to booking as of today's date). 🤫 Our Full-Board dining plan included buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner dining at their Banyan Restaurant which has to be staffed by some of the best chefs and servers in the world! With an incredibly delicious variety of international cuisine and fresh seafood, I was blown away by the range of food options being served at what I would consider to be a 5 ⭐️ level. A foodies haven, for sure! The accommodations were exceptionally clean, well maintained and serviced and also included (unbeknownst to me when I booked the vacation) a delightful butler, or "personal concierge", who made sure that our every need was accounted for and that we knew about the wide range of activities and amenities the resort had to offer and even introduced us to the island's unofficial "mascot" 🐦 upon our arrival. The excursions we enjoyed were also quite memorable and included dolphin watching, sunset snorkeling, sunset fishing, a sumptuous floating breakfast and lavish farewell beachside dinner for two. This vacation would not have been nearly as enjoyable were it not for the warmth, kindness, generosity and graciousness of the entire staff at the resort. There wasn't a moment that we ever felt that our needs could not be addressed and our requests would go unheeded. The staff epitomized a true attention to thoughtfulness and detail and it was clear that every person (from our extremely talented villa attendant to the CEO) would do whatever it took to ensure we would leave their resort with memories to last a lifetime. And they truly succeeded way beyond our expectations. Mr. Rourke and Tattoo would definitely be proud! We just returned from our holiday to South Palm, as previously reading a lot of reviews from the other travellers we wanted to share our thoughts with you, good and bad.

 We booked our holiday thru BlueBayTravel (please check notes at the end if you’re thinking to book with them)

 For a quick summary here are some notes:

 Overall: 7/10. We’ll go back? Probably No (The world is so big and you have so many choices, so why limit. Plus getting there it is a bit tiring, maybe choose something closer to Male, without the need for a flight connection, maybe only a speedboat)
 - Room: 7/10 - View from the room : 10/10 - Cleanliness: 10/10 - Services / Staff: 10/10 - Food: 9/10 - Restaurant: 6/10 - Atmosphere: 6/10 - Bar: 7/10 - Romantic: 5/10 - SPA: 8/10 - Pool: 9/10 - Price/quality: 8/10

 I will start with the positives:

 - Staff is great, they are trying to make you feel as comfortable as possible, we are a very low maintenance couple, not fussy at all. We had only one request for our stay, to have a table in the restaurant next to the window, once we requested that, we had it. Thank you Salman, Saif, Arif, and all of you who made sure we’re had a good time - The view from the room (we stayed in 206, Palm Villa) is absolutely perfect, and we think from all the other types of the villas the Palm Beach ones (numbers with 2XX) are the best. And access to the beach. - Food is great, the selection of the cuisines and the quality is good. Depends of course of everyone expectations, but as a foodie lover, when I’m going to a different country I just want to try more of the local food than the food that I’m used at home. I uploaded more food pics, because I think current photos don’t do justice to the choices the restaurant offers.
 For example there is the pasta bar, where they can cook pasta’s on requirements as you wish. I haven’t used that for the entire week, so I cannot say how good it is, but I’m sure it will be fine.

We mainly ate dishes from local cuisine, from curries to soups, which I was very satisfied to try. No complains at all. As you will see in the pics uploaded, we have tried a lot of dishes.

 We’ve seen previously a few reviews where the people were complain about the food and choices. For us, in Jan 2024 I couldn’t disagree more, there are choices for everyone. The only part which I thing is not as great are the deserts, but hey, it’s South India, not France :)
 - The water activities are great, we went to see the dolphins and for snorkeling. Cannot recommend both of them highly enough. - If you want to stay at the pool, it is really nice, very relaxing. - For us it was amazing to see for the first time (live, not on TV) the hermit crabs. They are absolutely amazing, it’s such a delight to watch them. We spent hours looking at the small creatures :))) - SPA is good, we had the balinese massage. 
 - Sky in the nighttime is mind-blowing.

 What can be improved, I will not say negatives, but definitely some things would make the stay there more enjoyable: - Aircon in the restaurant. I know that we all go there for sun and hot weather, and this is what you get, but it is hard to eat when you’re continuously sweating (I know, it’s Asia, you’ll not find too many aircon’s in the restaurants, but lunch was certainly an uncomfortable meal and we felt we could not fully enjoy the food because it simply was too hot inside. - Lights. This is one big issue, after the sunset (6.30pm ish), it’s so dark everywhere, from outside of the restaurant, bar, reception, to the walkways and back of the rooms. There is just way too little to no light, you need to use your phone light to not step on the cute little hermit crabs which are everywhere and to see where you’re going.

 Adding solar powered lights especially outside of the rooms around the trees where now there is only one very very weak wall light would create a more pleasant ambiance and would make it relaxing to stay out of the room on the swing or the sun lounges but after sunset it is completely dark. 

 On the bar area will improve the atmosphere a lot putting some candle lights on the tables… I’m sure most of the guests of the resort are couples, and this would will improve create a more intimate/romantic atmosphere - Bathroom to be closed off for 2 reasons: 
1) my wife uses some face products but when you have the bathroom outside and you’re sweating it will be hard to apply them on your skin. 
2) privacy window between room and bathroom that is completely transparent - a shutter would help and would also keep the room dark after sunrise if you want to sleep in after sunrise (6am ish), personally I cannot sleep if there is light in the room. - Mirror in the room. I’m sure most ladies will have a mirror in their home to see how they dressed up or whatever, will be a good addition. Even a small one. The trip started not as great for us as our plane was delayed for an hour (landed 10.30am instead of 9.40 am) and we missed the connection flight in Male (11.50am). The hotel representative meet us and she asked why we are late, because we just missed the flight… (well… I’m not flying the airplane, it is out of my hand, not something that we could do).. and she said: ok, I have put you on the 23.30 flight to Gan… I thought it isn’t a great start at all… over 12h to wait in the airport and being questioned why the flight was delayed after an 11 hours long flight. Not the best start to an expensive holiday and we did not feel very welcome, there was a very strong lack of courtesy and respect to a paying customer. 

 She managed to book us on the next flight (16.45) but it was really stressful and we didn’t know if we’ll be boarding that or not until 16.15 after the checkin for the flight was over. In the end we got at the resort at 8pm in complete darkness but I think they need to handle this better with the airline, because I’m sure it is not the only flight that was a bit late. So we basically missed the whole first day of our holiday. Our biggest issue is that there was no provision in place to reassure us that we will be helped to get to the hotel in the shortest time possible and we had the feeling that nobody cared about our comfort. Again, we really are very low maintenance reasonable people however after an 11+ hours long flight getting out from the plane in 28C+ our weak European bodies started to sweat instantly and we felt light headed and very keen to get to a shower asap. We were not offered any complementary refreshments and a bottled water in the airport costs $6.5 and an expresso is $4 - this is a comment for the travel agency as we bought a package and it would be good practice to have contingency plans to deal with delays and make sure clients feel valued and not blamed about things completely out of their control. Taking responsibility for the experience you sell and caring about how people feel after they pay your fees is good customer service and makes people come back, not the case here.

 To leave the resort for our return was crazy… the flight from Male was at 11.30am, but we left the resort just before 3am. Absolutely bonkers - we had to wake up at 1.30am. 

You’d think that if you’re paying extra for direct flights from London to Male, instead of having another stop over extra it will get you there (and back) in a lot less time that over 24 hours, not over 24-28h.

 That’s a big issue and you are not aware about time schedule of the internal flights (BlueBayTravel it's saying only "domestic transfer", but no timings). 

If you plan to go there, go for 10 days, not only 7. It’s just not enough when you’re spending so much time on the trips/connections/airports. 
We booked the holiday thru BlueBayTravel. First time for us using them. I’m not sure if it was only one time, but it was a very strange experience booking it online as you can’t complete the booking and pay for the holiday online as the price on the website is not final and is subject to change.

 After choosing the dates, flights, etc normally you’ll just pay online. No, got a message that they will contact me for the reservation.

 When they did, after a couple hours they told me the price increased from £3467 (around that amount it was showed on the listing) to over £3700 (for 2 adults). 

After a few conversations with them, a lot of time spent on the phone, they “discounted” it to £3667. So that’s £200 extra for nothing, just cheeky with the prices.

 Even checking the price second day on the website, or a few days or a couple weeks after the price showed was still the £3467, NOT £3667. So, misleading prices, not “there are not the live prices that we see in our system”. Not ok for a big travel company. That’s false advertising. Many thanks to the Virgin cabin crew, they were very friendly and helpful and made the flight very pleasant and comfortable. All in all, this was a pleasant getaway for a few days from the cold UK January weather but travel wise things did not go smoothly and to have this happen when you’re so far away from home is not a good start for a holiday, professionalism could be much improved in this respect and perhaps more training to staff when it comes to greeting clients and dealing with unforeseen situations.

The view from the beach villa was awesome. Had snorkeling and it was a amazing adventure. The customer service representatives have the best service. From the reception to the cleaner, excellent people.
