Merci

pleasant, peaceful and stress free stay.
Pros: Everything on the island has been well thought out i.e. the sun loungers are dedicated to one's accommodation, so one is not competing with others.
Cons: Premium vista villas aren't! Views of the sea from our room was obscured by palms which literally overhung our balcony. However, as we did not spend much time in the villa it did not effect us much.

Pros: The island was beautiful and quiet. An infinity pool available if you want to take a rest from the ocean. East part was a bit windy and with some shade while the west part was sunny, so you could choose what you prefer. Everyone from the resort was really nice.
Cons: Nothing in particular, prices of the drinks were a bit higher, but I suppose that’s everywhere on the islands. Wi-Fi was a bit slower, around 4Mbps, but I suppose it’s also quite normal on the islands.

I booked Summer Island for my partner & I to celebrate a special birthday. The word we used consistently to describe our holiday was ‘amazing’||||I booked via Travel Republic which I found to be significantly better value than other travel providers.||||The Island - Summer Island is very small, I walked around it in 15 minutes (in the heat and on the sand). It has gloriously sandy beaches, great views and great photo opportunities. There are two distinct sides. The sunrise side captures the breeze which was very cooling. The sunset side is a lot warmer with very calm still seas. Bear in mind there is only about 50 metres between each side, so you can pick & choose where you base yourself. However each apartment has two allocated sun beds - ours were on the windy side but this was never an issue.||||Despite its size the resort was not crowded, we got one of the 5 sets of sun-beds at the infinity pool, turning up at 10:15am on the mornings we chose to do the pool. The beaches weren’t crowded and our restaurant wasn’t crowded.||||The room - I felt I was probably only going to visit the Maldives once so I pushed the boat out and went for a Water Villa. This was an incredible experience. We were on the sunset side where the sea was slightly calmer. We snorkelled, entering the water from the steps of the villa. The room had everything you needed and the villa was a 2 minute walk from the beach & the restaurant.||||The Premium beach villas had the equivalent set up as the water villas and had exceptional locations on the beach front.||||The Restaurants/bars - staying in the water villas gave us access to the Hiya restaurant and we loved it. A choice of 4 main courses from the a la carte menu and the food was excellent. The service we had from Joy who looked after us in the Hiya was top quality. Joy is a lovely man who made us feel special and he looked after us every day - breakfast, lunch & dinner.||||We used both bars, the Avi & the Nevi - great service from great people at both. The all inclusive menu had plenty for us to choose from. ||||The extras - we had a Sand & Stars meal on the beach on the night of my birthday. This costs extra but was an unforgettable experience. Again, Joy was on hand to ensure everything went well. We also made use of the spa.||||Service - every member of staff we encountered was exceptional. Ramar looked after our room which he made look spotless and he brought fresh water and beach towels every day. Another very pleasant and friendly young man.||||This was mainly a resort for couples. The bars closed at midnight but had very few people using them after 11pm. If you are looking for great nightlife, this is probably not that sort of resort. There were some solo travellers and a few mother/daughter guests.||||I would highly recommend Summer Island.

The food was fresh and tasty with a large amount of different choices. The Nevy bar is offering drinks and relaxing entertainment. All the staff is super friendly, kind and supportive in any kind of question.||Come here for snorkeling, diving, relaxing, honeymoon or just to enjoy life with awesome summer and beach experience ! We obviously recommend this resort 😀

I love this place so much. Maldivian hospitality is incredible. The staff are the best there is!! The price is well worth it!||I stayed in the Superior Beach and the person doing housekeeping was just phenomenal. I loved just walking outside and being able to lay down on the deck chair or being 2 metres from the beautiful clean ocean!!! ||They have a fantastic gym, a great spa, the infinity pool is beautiful, two restaurants, and a few activities. The resort has a barefoot concept and the sunset was just divine! It’s a small island which suits me!||Thank you for making my stay so special and relaxing. I came home feeling so good. Here’s to the Maldives and Summer Island Resort!!||||

First time to holiday in the maldives. Summer island came highly recommended from friends who have holidayed there 4 times. Recomendation are better than anything, especially when there is such a vast selection and price range. We wanted a down to earth, affordable holiday and summer island ticked most of our boxes. After a roughly,10 hour flight,we were greated by a lovely representative from the hotel and escorted to the hotels shuttle boat. Such an experience . We were so glad that we opted for a journey of no more than one hour from airport and didnt require hanging around for a seaplane transfer.on arrival we were greeted by one of the team and taken to reception. We were totally underwhelmed by the reception area. Didnt fill us with a good feeling but we kept telling ourselves that our friends wouldnt stay anywhere that was bad 4 time and we were told that the reception was very tired. The owners of summer island should really update the first place that travellers see of the island, it really does underwhelm. Check in was quick and easy helped along with a cocktail. Our room was beautiful. Very much made up for reception area, thank goodness. 2wks of unwinding , brilliant. |Now, positives, food plentifull, fresh, delicious. Lovely staff. Plenty of snorkelling. Boat trip for snorkelling good. |Negatives, our room needed a deep clean . On first impression beautiful, but being a clean freak things did grind my gears. Ie, corners ,underneath and sides . Goodhousekeeping,is important whether 3 star or 5 star. I did inform management and my concerns were addressed straight away. There is really not much happening in the evening. There is entertainment but very little. There was alot of plastic around the pier which we found disappointing, but picked up what we could. Its a shame that more people dont pick up plastic when they see it and not ignore it. Such a gorgeous place ,so why would'nt you ??|Overall, a fabulous holiday, and we would deffinately return. |A special shout out to these members of the summer island family that made our stay even more enjoyable,Nawra,Amdjah,Tatoo,Arvind,Saiful. Many thanks.

SHORT AND TO THE POINT!|Staff, rooms, all facilities excellent.|BUT ONE MAIN GRIPE....|FOOD...Very tasty with lots of choice...BUT you must get a system where your food is hot.|It is mostly like warm at best.|Even your soups straight from soup urns was not hot enough.|As I said, this is a shame because all food in the two restaurants was very tasty and plentiful.|Only other small gripe...The DJ on Saturday nites seems to want to play lots of Base and Drums type Techno type stuff. When he was playing "Real" music the "Dance Floor" was busy but when the Techno stuff was playing....empty.|So Nuffield said on that. |We had a great holiday apart from the above and would certainly consider returning.

Hello. We would love to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Summer Island Maldives team! We really enjoyed our lovely time with you. First of all, I want to thank the staff at the reception, the kitchen (especially!), the cleaners and everyone else. Every day I saw pleasant, smiling faces, the cleaners did a wonderful job and the room was always clean and pleasant. Waiters are a separate topic, as I have never seen such pleasant and hard-working people. They are always happy to help, provide everything we wanted, your work is very valuable, friends. The food was excellent, especially the waffles and pancakes from Pavan, we have never tasted anything better. The island is so beautiful. We had a lovely dinner outside on the beach and the waiter (we forgot his name, sorry) was very caring and nice) thank you 🙏 Also the people who worked outside were nice and very friendly, they did a great job as everything was brilliant and leaves were always cleaned off. Thank you for the lovely experience!!)))

TLDR really wonderful stay. Everything you expect from a holiday in the Maldives.||We stayed in the very end water villa on the sunset side. It was very nice inside and out and we spent a lot of time here. Worth noting there is no sun on the balcony in the morning on this side so we spent the AM at the beach then back to the room at 1-2pm for more sun and dipping/snorkelling directly from our room in the afternoon. You get to watch sunset directly from your own private terrace so the setting is really perfect.||The only thing I would mention on the beach is when you are a water villa resident you are limited to a small section of beach beds in one specific area near the port/jetty… the rest of the island’s beds are for the other rooms on the island. It would have been nice to have had another group of beach beds elsewhere for a bit of choice but no big deal, was still great.||The food was lovely, we were half board so got breakfast and dinner. We just brought snacks and did without lunch. To use the buffet at lunch was $30pp. We were using the Hiya restaurant which was for premium guests. Breakfast was a good choice of continental; fruits, breads, pastries, yoghurts. Also had ‘English’ breakfast of bacon (sometimes pork sometimes beef) beans, hash brown and tomato. There was an egg station where you could choose omelette, scrambled, fried, etc. also had local curry + Rothi if you fancied local. in the evening it was semi buffet, so buffet for starters and desserts and a choice of main from a menu. Always had good choice here and the food was nice. We had to purchase any wine or drinks as we weren’t all inclusive, prices ranging from $50-100 per bottle or more for champagne, etc. Alcohol in general is expensive as it is highly taxed so just beware of that when making your choice of package, if you wanna drink a lot go all inclusive. We had about 5 bottles over 10 days… handily you can buy a bottle and then if u don’t finish it take it to your room, or the restaurant will save it in their fridge until your next meal. There is also an extra shellfish menu where u can pay extra for platters or lobster; on our last night we paid $90 for lobster and we got 3(!) lobsters with chips veg and sauce, so u get plenty for your money.||The water around the island is beautiful either way lots of little corals for snorkelling, and a free daily snorkel trip where we saw loads of fish and a couple of sea turtles. We also did a $30 fishing trip where u can eat your catch the next day at the restaurant.||All in all it was a wonderful holiday. The staff were perfect, everything was taken care of and convenient to make everything truly relaxing. I would highly recommend visiting Summer Island and if we came back to the Maldives, we would come here again.||Special shout out to Ramar who took care of our room and Joyal (I think) in the restaurant who took care of us there every day! Thanks for a great stay!

We enjoyed our stay in a watervilla room for 2 days which was the best decision. Amenities were great, food and restaurants had amazing variety for all three course meals. Our anniversary couldn’t have been better celebrated. Every time, we went out and upon returning we will find the villa as we entered the first time. Big shout out to the experienced staff. Swimming pool is not that spacious. Would love to see the pool more nicely decorated. Gym was well equipped. We didn’t notice any extra arrangements apart from a in house musical night. However as per the price, the resort definitely do justice.

Man erhält jeden Tag kostenlos 2 Liter Wasser.

Nearly 28 years since our last long hall flight, a honeymoon in Kenya, we were at last celebrating our covid delayed 25th wedding anniversary. Our Etihad flight from Heathrow to Malé via Abu Dhabi had taken 16 hours so we were glad to quickly find the Summer Island desk and soon be ushered to the resort’s speedboat where we were handed a bottle of water and cool flannel. There were very dark clouds on the horizon and the pilot was clearly racing over the rolling waves. We felt safe enough, we think, but a sea plane might be the safer option for anyone who doubts their sea legs. The weather looked ominous to say the least, particularly when every forecast we had looked at for the preceding week had predicted rain and storms for the duration of our 10 day trip. With hindsight our advice is to completely ignore such forecasts as every day was baking and blue with just a few minutes of daytime rain throughout our trip. A quick walk along the jetty and we were in the island’s sandy reception drinking a non alcoholic peach belinini. We had emailed ahead requesting that our Premium Beach Villa was on the sunset side and received a non-committal but optimistic reply, so were disappointed to be told none were available (except, it transpired, for the other couple on our flight who obviously had a stronger call than our 25th 😉). As you have probably picked up from other reviews, the east/sunrise side of the island (jetty and reception) is the cooler, breezy side compared to west/sunset side (pool, bars and restaurants). The difference between the two sides was extraordinary during our stay with the sunrise side always breezy, sometimes windy and usually very choppy, whilst the sunset side was always calm and rippling. The heat literally hits you as you step between the trees separating each side. However, after 10 days I genuinely couldn’t say which side I prefer as both are beautiful and the problem was easily remedied by spending the morning sun on our sun loungers in the east then taking our beach towels to the west when the shade covered our side in the early afternoon. This way we got the best of both worlds, something we probably wouldn’t have done if we had been granted our room choice. Premium Beach Villas are beautiful, air-conditioned and plenty big enough with a large comfortable bed, fridge, Nespresso machine and kettle. The large bathroom has a shower plus jacuzzi bath and is open to the sky meaning it is always fresh and comfortable. The private area outside, protected by just enough trees and bushes to avoid spoiling the view, is effectively on the beach and has table and chairs, a lounger and sunbeds that are yours alone. The villa was cleaned perfectly daily, in our case by a friendly, incredibly hardworking gent who visited twice each day, the second occasion to refresh beach towels, top up water etc and to tidy outside facilities. As we are not big drinkers we opted for Half Board safe in the knowledge that we would drink as much as we fancied and still make a considerably saving on the All Inclusive option. The strategy was to enjoy the ample breakfasts and to snack at lunchtime, either from the expensive bar menu or from a variety of sweet or salty snacks that we brought with us. As it happens we only ate in the bar once, our departure day. The room’s fridge includes two large bottles of water, with extra provided on demand each evening and three bottles was generally enough for us each day. We packed three mini bottles of concentrated squash to make the water more interesting and only went to the pay bar a couple of times throughout. Our food and drink budget was 600 dollars and we lived well within this whilst never holding back, and tipping, I hope, at the level the wonderful staff deserve. Along with water villa guests, premium beach guests are allocated to the Hiya Restaurant for each meal. Hiya and the neighbouring Avi cocktail bar overhang the stunning clear blue sea and we honestly haven’t eaten in a more genial setting. On day one we were met by Luftshaan, who remained our waiter for the whole holiday and was first class in learning our preferences so that he could pre-empt our needs. On our first visit to Hiya Luftshaan introduced the restaurants head chef Mohit who understood one of us was vegetarian and asked about any needs before explaining what could and couldn’t be eaten, including gelatine for example. He made it clear he was always available to clarify if we had any queries throughout our stay. At Hiya, starters and desserts are buffet style but mains are a la carte, options including several meat and fish choices and one vegetarian option. Each meal was high quality and the only complaint is that vegetarian options are quite limited, invariably curry or pasta based, and could at least do with days being mixed a bit to avoid runs of one or the other. Strict vegetarians should beware rennet in cheese. Except water, drinks are chargeable outside of all inclusive. Breakfasts are excellent with a decent range of hot and cold options including an egg station. After each evening meal at Hiya we ambled next door to Avi to continue the shark watch over cocktails. Outside of all inclusive you are looking at between 12 and 18 US dollars for a cocktail, not cheap by any standards, but you can expect decent versions of all the classics and more, packed full of premium spirit. There’s only occasional live music at Avi, most of the entertainment being focused on Nevi Bar, 5 mins walk down the beach. A special shout out goes to the two lads who run the Avi bar, very good at what they do and at making their guests feel at home on first name terms. Activities at the resort such as dining and diving are incredibly expensive, sometimes eye watering so, and none included within the all inclusive. We didn’t use the Sp or free gym or buy anything at the gift shop. The resort do provide two complimentary daily snorkelling boat trips to local reefs where you can see turtles, rays and sharks but we did not make use of these. We kept ourselves to the rocks and corals forming the sea breaks on the east side where you will see thousands of beautiful fish. Snorkels and underwater cameras are a must, ideally fins too as these are mandatory on the resort trips. For us one of the highlights of the holiday was spotting the large adult sharks and sting rays from the restaurant and bar terraces. We saw numerous black tips plus a nurse shark and several very large sting rays. These are all harmless to humans and skittish so you are unlikely to get the chance to get very close, although we were lucky enough to have a six foot-ish black tip pass close by on one occasion whilst snorkelling beach side of the sea break. You will see baby sharks a few feet off the shore. Other common wildlife includes large fruit bats, a couple of resident herons and numerous lizards and crabs. Didn’t see a mosquito! It is fair to say that this is a special place where you are forced to relax, in the company of attentive and highly personable staff who take a pride in their island. We certainly hope we’ll have an opportunity to return.

Un posto davvero magico, unico e meraviglioso! Resort curato nei minimi dettagli, personale in generale gentilissimo e disponibile. Sanno davvero come coccolare l'ospite.

Personale disponibile e gentile, in particolare i camerieri.

Calm and peaceful. The food is of high quality and diversity, but it might be tastier. There is a beautiful hard coral reef for snorkeling. Sharks and rays are swimming nearby. You can swim with fish around your water villa. 3 nights was quite enough for me.
