Below I report my experience on the island
The plane ride was long and more stressful than usual, so I hoped to myself and the other passengers that the fun could begin.
This wait is cut short by a first initial communication, which is not pleasant: "your luggage will be delivered in the evening".
It is customary to warn passengers of this inconvenience. But the situation became even more complex when they direct us to a room, to wait for, what? Nothingness.
It is certainly important to know English, but if a person does not speak the language fluently, what does he do?
And here I ask my question: but the girls from Turisanda, are they there doing what? The showgirls on channel 5?
With great difficulty I then took out the essentials from my luggage to at least take a bath.
The people were tired and the air could split just like when a needle touches a balloon.
After about 30 minutes on the seaplane, I finally set foot on the island.
The manager Martina welcomed us by providing us with the right communications, among these the one that strongly struck my sensitivity "peanuts and hazelnuts placed in your villas, if you want to consume them, you have to pay for them, while the coffee is free.
Now the question arises spontaneously, but after the high sum I paid for this holiday, I would have to pay for the hazelnuts which they almost give away at LIDL. Then I questioned myself. If I don't eat hazelnuts because they are paid for and I don't drink coffee even though it was free, what should I do? Take the waffles and bring them to my house? But no, I'm a lady.
Having arrived in my room, I immediately realize that the deckchairs positioned on the terrace are a real burden for those who want to break their backs. And then the stairs that lead to the sea should be cleaned.
In short, on holiday you look for comfort.
Precisely in relation to this, I would like to focus on another negative point: total absence of sunbeds on the beach. The only comfortable sunbed was the white expanse of sand, which to tell the truth I appreciate, as does the sea, even if the bad weather didn't really benefit my stay all that much, but for this I don't condemn anyone.
Continuing the analysis, I attribute mediocrity to the cuisine, in order to be good. The first days were more folkloristic, while towards the end of the week, the repetition and re-proposal of some dishes was boring.
In some moments the kindness and friendliness of the managers disappears when they are asked to set up tables to accommodate more people, known on the island.
In short, the first few days passed and at the end of the week things got complicated as if someone was taking revenge for my trip.
My passion for rowing pushed me in the early afternoon of Saturday 17th to go and get a canoe, but bad luck had it that the oars weren't there and what's more there was no one in charge to provide this service. Always remaining on the theme of the same day, in the evening, I was called back, because at 7.30 pm, given that there were no more tables available for dinner, I allowed myself to have two appetizers by going to the bar to sit down and eat with peace of mind.
I admit that the reminder annoyed me, enough to order an additional glass of wine, and if I have to be honest about the wine too, well what in Italy they call "tavernello" is far superior.
I now take up the invitation to summarize by communicating the following: I hope that this message can be food for thought for those who have to decide whether to choose this village for their holidays!

Riporto di seguito la mia esperienza sull’isola
Il viaggio in aereo è stato lungo e più stressante del solito, per cui auguravo a me stessa e agli altri passeggeri che lo svago potesse iniziare.
Quest’attesa viene tagliata da una prima comunicazione iniziale, non bella: “i bagagli verranno consegnati in serata”.
È consuetudine avvertire i passeggeri di tale disagio. Ma la situazione è diventata ancora più complessa quando ci indirizzano in una sala, per attendere, cosa? Il nulla.
È sicuramente importante sapere l’inglese, ma se una persona non mastica la lingua in una maniera fluida, cosa fa ?
E qui pongo la mia domanda: ma le ragazza di Turisanda, sono lì a fare che cosa ? Le veline su canale 5?
Con gran fatica poi ho tirato fuori dal mio bagaglio l’essenziale per fare almeno il bagno.
Le persone erano stanche e l’aria si poteva fendere proprio come quando un’ago sfiora un palloncino.
Dopo circa 30 minuti di idrovolante, metto finalmente piede sull’isola.
La responsabile Martina ci ha accolto fornendoci le giuste comunicazioni, tra queste quella che ha colpito fortemente la mia sensibilità “ arachidi e nocciole poste nelle vostre ville, se volete consumarle, dovete pagarle, mentre invece il caffè è gratis.
Ora la domanda sorge spontanea, ma dopo l’elevata somma che ho versato per questa vacanza, dovrei pagare delle nocciole che al LIDL quasi regalano. Allora mi sono interrogata. Se non mangio le nocciole perché si pagano e non bevo il caffè nonostante fosse gratis, cosa dovrei fare? Prendere le cialde e portarle a casa mia ? Ma no, io sono una signora.
Arrivata nella mia camera, mi accorgo subito che le sdraio posizionate sul terrazzo, sono un vero e proprio pegno per chi vuole spezzare la sua schiena. E poi le scale che portano al mare, andrebbero pulite.
Insomma, in vacanza si cerca la comodità.
Proprio in merito a questo, mi soffermo su un altro punto a sfavore: assenza totale di lettini sulla spiaggia. L’unico lettino comodo era la distesa bianca della sabbia, che a dire il vero apprezzo, così come il mare, anche se la sfiga del tempo non ha poi così giovato la mia permanenza, ma per questo non condanno nessuno.
Procedendo poi l’analisi, attribuisco alla cucina una mediocrità, per essere buona. I primi giorni sono stati più folcloristici, mentre sul finire della settimana, il ripetersi e il riproporre di alcuni piatti è risultato noioso.
In alcuni momenti la gentilezza e cordialità dei gestori sparisce quando viene chiesto loro di attaccare dei tavoli per far accomodare più persone, conosciute sull’isola.
Insomma, i primi giorni sono poi trascorsi e sul finire della settimana le cose si complicano come se qualcuno si stesse vendicando del mio viaggio.
La mia passione per il canottaggio, mi ha spinta il primo pomeriggio di sabato 17 a recarmi per prendere la canoa, ma la sfiga vuole che i remi non c’erano e per di più non c’era nessun responsabile a servire tale servizio. Restando sempre in tema con la stessa giornata, la sera, sono stata richiamata, perché mi sono permessa alle ore 19:30, dato che non c’erano più tavoli a disposizione per poter cenare, di prendere due stuzzichini recandomi al bar per accomodarmi e mangiare con tranquillità.
Ammetto che il richiamo mi ha infastidito, tale da ordinare un’ulteriore calice di vino, e se poi devo dirla tutta anche sul vino, beh quello che in Italia chiamano “tavernello” è di gran lunga superiore.
Colgo ora l’invito alla sintesi comunicandovi quanto segue: spero che questo messaggio possa essere uno spunto di riflessione per chi deve decidere se scegliere questo villaggio per le proprie vacanze!
Ich war im Dezember 24 mit meinen Eltern eine Woche im Retreat und es war traumhaft.
Der Strand ist wunderschön und die Insel im allgemeinen einfach nur toll.
Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und ich konnte noch nie so gut entspannen wie an diesem Ort.
Should keep it pruvate to avoid competition ... anyhow, one of the best reefs although not on the atoll borders. Corals are coming back. Great staff and good food. Authentic Maldivean style island. Ok, some roofs and showers need fixing but who cares :)
Ho recentemente soggiornato in questo resort che per quanto sia incorniciato in un vero e proprio paradiso circondato da acque cristalline e spiagge di sabbia bianca ha superato ogni limite in termini di pessima qualità dei servizi. La scarsa attenzione alle esigenze degli ospiti era evidente fin dal nostro arrivo, con un personale inflessibile che sembrava più interessato a seguire le procedure che a risolvere i problemi. Ogni richiesta, per quanto ragionevole, veniva ignorata o respinta con una freddezza inaccettabile. Inoltre, per aggiungere, hanno danneggiato in maniera irreparabile alcuni dei miei beni personali durante il soggiorno. È stato davvero frustrante vedere la mancanza di cura e rispetto per le proprietà degli ospiti. Spero che il resort prenda seri provvedimenti per migliorare i propri servizi e trattare meglio i propri ospiti in futuro. Per la grave negligenza nella gestione questo tipo di esperienza è inaccettabile per un resort che si propone di offrire un soggiorno di lusso. Non consiglio affatto questa struttura a chi cerca un servizio di qualità e un'adeguata attenzione alle proprie esigenze.

We just came back from a week at Drift to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. |The island is amazing- a proper tropical paradise- and the water bungalow was very comfortable: excellent bathroom, shower, bath, lots of space, comfy bed and seating and fantastic balcony with steps straight into the warm ocean.|The staff we also very friendly and attentive, looking after us well.||However, a number of small issues ended up causing us to feel a bit unsatisfied.|- the thatched roofs on some of the water bungalows were being renovated which was fun to watch: however they started at 8am which meant we were woken up by hammering. Then by 10am no-one was working. It would certainly have been better for the guests if they simply started later|- we mentioned it was our 25th anniversary, and saw a number of other couples get a celebratory private dinner, but were not offered anything like that|- we were told there would be a fishing excursion but this never materialised due to bad weather- these things happen, but there was no attempt to offer some sort of alternative|- we were told our all inclusive package allowed us 2 soft drinks from the mini-bar each day but were then billed $50 at the end of the week for the fruit juices we had drunk. The small print stated that fruit juices were not included, so fair enough I guess, but it felt deliberatively confusing and petty||So nothing major, and we still had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay- but given the amount of money we spent, I was hoping for a better.

I decided on a solo relaxing holiday for my birthday this year. First time in the Maldives too. I don’t think I could have chosen a more perfect hotel. It was everything I’d expected and more. Reasonably priced for the stay. Massages, drinks and diving were quite pricey though. The entire team made me feel special for the 5 days I was there. They even brought out cake and wine for my birthday and created a cute design on the bed. I can’t wait to go back!!

This is our third visit to Drift. The truly magical traditional maldivian Island of our dreams. Angel Fish as always organised our trip to perfection They are so professional friendly and efficient. Nothing is ever too much bother.|The Island and Staff are perfection, making us feel like we have returned home.|We were totally spoilt during our stay and cannot thank the Island staff enough. Maria and the restaurant and Bar team you were always brightening up our already perfct, sunny days. |No shoes required for our entire 3 week stay just bliss!!!|We will return we hope same time next year.|Thank you all at Angel Fish and Drift.|Love |Denyse and Kenny xxx

Che dire la settimana tutto sommato ci è passata! Il mare e i colori sono meravigliosi, purtroppo ciò non è stato sufficiente a rendere indimenticabile la nostra vacanza. Buffet scarso e ripetitivo, un all inclusive che non vale la pena! Per altro il mini bar non è nemmeno incluso e una coca cola l'abbiamo dovuta pagare quasi 8 dollari un furto!! per non parlare poi dei sacchetti di sabbia presenti nella spiaggia per contenere un non so che....forse dovevamo saperlo quando nelle carte che ci ha dato l'agenzia abbiamo scoperto che era un prodotto Alpitour, mi spiace ma alle Maldive c'è molto di meglio. Non soddisfatti.

We stayed at the resort from August 26th, 2024 to September 7th, 2024, and can recommend it with some reservations. If you're looking for peace and quiet and don't expect a lot of activities, the resort is ideal. It only offers a standard spa area and has a dive center attached. I highly recommend the dive center: The main person in charge, nicknamed Dude, is an incredibly pleasant person. He takes great care of his diving guests and has a very good sense of what they want. He is excellent at assessing their diving skills. Safety is his top priority. Additionally, he is very knowledgeable about the dive sites and knows where the highlights are. Since the resort only has about 30 rooms, you can expect that the dive groups will never be too large. I was more than satisfied with the care provided by Dude

Io e il mio ragazzo siamo stati al resort nel periodo di fine agosto inizio settembre... da premettere spiaggia e mare spettacolare niente da dire purtroppo non possiamo dire lo stesso della pulizia della camera il quale veniva richiesto alla persona che si occupava della nostra camera se ci fornisse della carta igienica più volte,una camera con un pavimento pieno di sabbia non veniva mai pulito,una formula all inclusive molto particolare, al bar principale potevi usufruire di bevande come coca cola sprite ecc ma se volevamo portarle nella camera non potevamo perché se avessimo avuto voglia di coca cola o altro dovevamo prendere quelle presenti nel frigo bar prettamente a pagamento e non incluse nel trattamento all inclusive,uno snack pomeridiano dalle 16:00 alle 17:00 il quale era possibile prendere solo una pietanza presente sul menu che variava in base ai giorni settimanale cosa per me assurda e se si facevano 2 minuti di ritardo dalle 17:00 non era possibile più usufruire dello snack pomeridiano. Buffet sia del pranzo che della cena sempre speziato e con pochissima scelta per i non amati dei piatti speziati e di altre culture. Abbiamo alloggiato nella overwater stanza molto bella e con una vista sul mare paradisiaca. Peccato per questi disservizi altrimenti sarebbe stato un soggiorno indimenticabile…
