How do I get from the airport?

The resort is 136-154 km north of Male in Raa Atoll. Two transfer options: a 45-minute seaplane from Velana International Airport, or a 20-minute domestic flight to Dharavandhoo followed by a 45-minute speedboat. Seaplane flights do not operate after 3:15 PM Male time. International flights must land by 3:15 PM and depart at 9:25 AM or later to connect with seaplane transfers. Waiting time at the airport lounge can be up to 3 hours. Flight details must be shared with the resort at least 72 hours before arrival. Tip: Plan your international flight to arrive in Male before noon — this gives the maximum buffer to connect with the seaplane before the 3:15 PM cut-off.

Is there a house reef?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A house reef accessible directly from the beach without a boat trip. The reef runs along one side of the island and contains coral gardens, butterfly fish, reef sharks, rays and turtles. Accessible daily throughout the stay. Tip: Request a room on the side of the island that faces the reef — the reef is not equally accessible from all villa positions.

Is the resort all-inclusive?

Yes. The 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive covers all meals across four dining outlets, premium beverages, a complimentary minibar, non-motorised water sports, snorkelling gear and sunset cruises. 211 villas. The majority are beach villas in crescents facing the shoreline with natural vegetation between them. All beach villas include air conditioning, minibar, satellite TV, ensuite bathroom and Wi-Fi. Some beach villas have a Jacuzzi. Twenty Prestige Water Villas on a separate jetty operate as a private adult-only area. Rooms are serviced twice daily. Tip: The Prestige Water Villas are adult-only even within -friendly resort — ideal if you want a quieter accommodation zone.

Four dining venues: Jaafaiy Main Restaurant serves international buffet meals; Caffe Mass is the lunch specialist; the Mediterranean restaurant focuses on fresh fish and seafood; a fourth outlet covers additional dining. The buffet covers international options, pasta, fresh vegetables and desserts. Fruit variety in the buffet is limited relative to some five-star properties. Tip: The Mediterranean restaurant is the most popular for dinner — arrive early or reserve a time slot through reception on the morning of the day you plan to go.

What is the seaplane transfer experience like?

A 40-45 minute scenic flight over the atolls and reef systems. Weather conditions can delay or cancel transfers. In bad weather, the seaplane may turn back mid-flight and guests are rebooked at the airport terminal. The domestic flight plus speedboat is the alternative route. Tip: Sit on the right-hand side of the seaplane flying north for the best views of the atolls — reef colours are most visible on a clear morning flight.

The Dive Point diving school (SSI certified) operates on the island with courses for all levels. Fun dives to Raa Atoll reef sites are priced at approximately USD 55 per dive. Manta ray excursions are available as paid add-ons. Tip: Raa Atoll is less dived than South Male Atoll — dive sites are less crowded and wildlife encounters are more frequent. Book your first dive for day two to allow one day to settle in.

Is it suitable for families with young children?

A kids fun zone is on the island. Staff actively engage with infants and young children at the pool bar and restaurants. Beach villas are accessible and the lagoon is calm. The resort accommodates families with babies including high chairs and cot arrangements. Tip: Let the resort know the age of your children before arrival — cots, high chairs and baby-friendly setups take time to arrange.

Two spa facilities: the Chavana Spa and the Mandala Spa. Beach volleyball, beach football, tennis, badminton, darts, billiards, table tennis and a fully equipped gym. A large swimming pool is on the island. SUP boards are available at no additional charge. Tip: The SUP boards are free but in limited supply — collect one early in the morning before the main beach crowd arrives.

Are some rooms near a sea wall?

Some beach rooms on one side of the island are adjacent to a sea wall, which limits direct beach access. Rooms on the opposite side have open beach access without a sea wall. Tip: Specify in writing when booking that you want a room away from the sea wall — this request has been accommodated when made in advance directly with the resort.

How is the evening entertainment?

The Sunset Bar and multiple bars are included in the all-inclusive package. The Caffe Mass bar runs special events approximately three times per week, during which the all-inclusive beverage service ends at 18:00 at that venue. Snack service runs between meals and into the late evening. Tip: On Caffe Mass event nights, relocate to the main bar to continue all-inclusive drinks service after 18:00 — the event at Caffe Mass switches to a paid bar only.

Children of all ages are welcome. One child stays free on a complimentary basis for stays between April and September when sharing with 2 paying adults. Children under 2 eat for free under the all-inclusive meal plan when accompanied by an adult, excluding alcoholic beverages. The Kokaa Kids Club operates for children aged 4 to 12 years with a weekly programme of arts and crafts, jewellery making, face painting, origami, mocktail making, a kids disco party and movie nights. The kids club is included at no additional charge. The 20 Prestige Water Villas are an adult-only zone within the resort. Families with children are accommodated in beach villas only. Cribs are not available at this property. For transfers, children aged 2-11.99 years are charged approximately USD 263-275 return by seaplane, or USD 208-238 return via domestic flight plus speedboat. Children aged 12 and above are charged at adult rates. A green tax of USD 12 per person per night applies to all guests above 1.9 years of age. Tip: The Kokaa Kids Club runs themed events on specific days of the week — check the programme on arrival and plan spa or excursion days to coincide with kids club event days for maximum family flexibility.
