Question 1

How do I get from the airport?

Accepted Answer

15-minute speedboat ride from Velana International Airport. The transfer is complimentary and included in the Premium All-Inclusive package. A Vadoo representative meets arriving guests at the arrivals hall. Tip: The short transfer means no daylight restrictions and no waiting for seaplane slots — early or late flights are not a problem.

Question 2

Is the resort adults-only?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Since November 2023 the resort is exclusively for guests aged 18 and above. Children are not permitted. Tip: A valid marriage certificate issued within 6 months of travel is required to access Honeymoon Villa benefits — bring a copy in your travel documents.

Question 3

What does the Premium All-Inclusive package include?

Accepted Answer

Complimentary airport transfers, 24-hour butler service, dining at all restaurants, premium beverages, in-villa minibar, daily high tea, spa credits and non-motorised water sports. Gratuities are included. Tip: Check the beverage menu before arrival — the all-inclusive has its own designated drinks list, and premium spirits in the minibar carry additional charges.

Question 4

What room types are available?

Accepted Answer

All accommodation is overwater — there are no beach villas. Categories include Overwater Villas with Jacuzzi, Sunrise Water Villas with Private Pool and Jacuzzi, Sunset Water Villas with Private Pool and Jacuzzi, and Honeymoon Suites on the western side facing the sunset. Tip: Sunrise villas face east for morning light; sunset villas face west for evening colours — choose based on when you spend most time on the deck.

Question 5

Does the resort have a house reef?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vadoo island sits on the edge of a coral reef. Snorkelling is accessible directly from the resort without a boat trip. Turtles, reef sharks and large schools of fish are present in the surrounding reef. Tip: Snorkelling is possible from the jetty and villa steps at any time of day — no need to book or join a group excursion.

Question 6

How is the food?

Accepted Answer

Three dining venues: a Japanese restaurant, a main restaurant and a beach bar. The Japanese restaurant is the standout option. Breakfast has a good range but variety is limited by remote island supply logistics. Food presentation is high across all venues. Tip: Reserve the Japanese restaurant on your first evening — it has limited covers and fills up quickly in peak season.

Question 7

What is the butler service like?

Accepted Answer

Each villa has a dedicated 24-hour personal butler. Meets guests on arrival, gives a full island and villa orientation, and remains reachable at any time by phone. Tasks include restaurant reservations, in-villa dining setups, excursion bookings and special occasion arrangements. Tip: Share your preferences and plans with your butler on day one — proactive setups for meals, excursions and surprises are easier to arrange with advance notice.

Question 8

How is the Wi-Fi?

Accepted Answer

Wi-Fi is provided in the villas. Connectivity is unreliable in certain areas of the resort with signal drop-out zones. Functional for messaging but not consistently reliable for video streaming. Tip: Buy a local SIM card at Velana International Airport before boarding the speedboat for more reliable mobile data throughout the stay.

Question 9

What excursions and activities are available?

Accepted Answer

Diving, snorkelling, fishing, sunset fishing, table tennis and parasailing. Whale submarine adventures and seaplane rides bookable as premium excursions. Snorkelling with turtles and sharks is accessible without leaving the resort. Tip: Book the whale submarine or seaplane excursion early in your stay — these operate on fixed schedules and availability is limited.

Question 10

What is included in the in-villa minibar?

Accepted Answer

A set selection of beverages is stocked. Hard alcohol in the minibar carries additional charges even under the all-inclusive plan. The standard all-inclusive beverage menu applies to bar service throughout the resort. Tip: Familiarise yourself with the all-inclusive beverage menu at check-in to avoid unexpected charges from minibar consumption.

Question 11

What is the spa like?

Accepted Answer

Massage therapies, facials and couples treatments on reef-view decks. Elemis botanical products used in treatments. Designed primarily for two-person experiences and wellness packages. Tip: Spa slots during sunrise and sunset are the most popular — book these on arrival for your preferred day.

Question 12

Is it suitable for honeymooners?

Accepted Answer

Specifically positioned for honeymoons. Special touches including bed decoration, champagne and personalised setups for anniversaries are arranged on request. A valid marriage certificate issued within 6 months of travel is required for Honeymoon Villa rate benefits. Tip: Notify the resort of your honeymoon at booking stage, not on arrival — preparation for special touches requires lead time.

Question 13

How many villas does the resort have?

Accepted Answer

50 overwater villas in total. The small island size creates an intimate atmosphere with a low number of guests at any given time. Tip: The low villa count means the pool, restaurants and spa are never crowded — no need to reserve sun loungers or rush to the pool.

Question 14

Is there a pool on the island?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A shared outdoor pool with sun loungers is available in addition to the private plunge pools in pool villa categories. A beach bar is adjacent. Tip: The shared pool is a social spot in the late afternoon — the beach bar serves sundowner drinks directly to loungers.

Question 15

What is the evening atmosphere like?

Accepted Answer

The Dhani bar near the beach is the main evening venue. Hookah is available. The resort atmosphere is quiet and private with no nightclub or DJ entertainment. Tip: The main bar area is where sharks are visible in the water at dusk — worth visiting even for non-drinkers for the marine viewing.

Question 16

What is the child policy?

Accepted Answer

Children are not permitted. The resort has been exclusively adults-only (18 years and above) since November 2023. No exceptions apply. Cribs and extra beds are not available. Families with children should book one of the other Adaaran properties: Adaaran Club Rannalhi, Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi or Adaaran Select Meedhupparu. Tip: If planning a group trip that includes both adults and families with children, book the adults at Vadoo and the families at a neighbouring Adaaran property — the group can coordinate shared excursions.
