Castaway Retreat

We can highly recommend this hidden gem retreat as it really gives you all you need (and more!) when you decide to stay on a local Maldives island. The couple who runs the place - Azmyl and his charming wife - really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and they looked after us for our whole stay in Feridhoo. Their kindness shone through their honest smile from the very first minute. Every extra wish we had they made sure was granted as soon as. When we needed a transfer from another island, Azmyl not just organised the boat for us, he actually came to meet us and took the whole boat ride with us. We couldn’t be more grateful, really; we are definitely coming back to this little piece of Heaven (sooner rather than later, I hope!) As our travel companions - a couple – had have stayed at Castaway 3 years ago, we’ve already had a grasp of how lovely this place really is. And it sure did not disappoint! Needless to say, the place is spotless, they clean the rooms every day to the highest standards (you’ll get fresh bottled water daily as well!). Each room have aircon and a modern ceiling fan as well. You have good WIFI connection too. Our friends have chosen one of the rooms with the open ceiling bathroom (as they did 3 years ago) and they really loved the experience! As I am not that adventurous, I really appreciated the option with the ‘normal’ bathroom too! The whole property is kept nice and tidy at all times, it looks and feels like a little oasis with white sand on the yard floor, the jungle like greeneries and the wooden furniture (see photos) And now get to my favourite subject: FOOD! 10/10 (again, see photos) Not joking! They are amazing with their food and with the serving too! They cook everything on the spot at the retreat’s kitchen with the help of other locals. Everything is freshly picked and cooked just before they serve it to you. As I’m a vegetarian I was even more impressed (and grateful) not just with the variety of the food they cooked for me, but the way they made sure that it is explained to me what I eat. It really made me feel well looked after (and special!) They told me they even serve completely vegan food too! Not something you get often when you travel. We got fresh fruit juice and local fruits every day. You could honesty tell they pour their heart and soul into this place and into everything they do. 100% recommended! The Castaway Retreat gave the foundation of our Paradise like experience, and we are #forevergrateful for it. Thank you ❤

The best place where on the Feridhoo Island stay. Very helpful and friendly owner and his son. They also can arrange perfect trips - Manta tour, turttle tour, Sand bank picnic etc. Can highly recomended. Very nice and clean room with beautiful outdoor shower. Wish to comeback one day. :)

We stayed in Castaway retreat and were very happy with our choice. Ali and his team are very friendly, helpful and supporting. We love feridhoo and felt comfortable in Castaway retreat. We come back :)

We spent 10 days in Castaway. I will not describe the island, the beach or the hotel as the other travelers already did. I just want to say we had a great family vacation and we are grateful for all the care and attention we received by all the people in Castaway. On our last night I asked my 10 year old what he liked most about this vacation and he said - the people:) Thank you Team for making our vacation an unforgettable experience!

We spent 10days in this beautiful guesthouse in a wonderful island. Starting from guesthouse, the room was cleaned each 2 days, food is good with 3 menù available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff is always available for any problems. Good excursions organized by the guesthouse. We felt very comfortable and like at home. Regarding the island the sea and the beach are amazing (and I traveled a lot), in particular in bikini beach area. While the coral reef is good but better outside the bikini beach area, really easy to access in but with a t-shirt (obviously). Super experience!!!
