Question 1

How do I get from the airport to Ifuru Island Maldives?

Accepted Answer

Ifuru Island Maldives is located in Raa Atoll and is uniquely served by its own private airstrip — the only resort in the Maldives with a dedicated on-island airport. The transfer is a domestic flight directly from Velana International Airport to the resort's own airstrip, with no speedboat leg required. The flight takes approximately 30-40 minute. Each guest is allowed 20 kg of checked luggage and 5 kg of hand luggage. A complimentary domestic transfer for two is included on certain promotional packages — confirm current offers at booking. A Meet and Greet service at Velana International Airport is complimentary for all guests. Drones are prohibited at the resort due to privacy concerns from the private airport. Tip: The private airstrip arrival is one of the most convenient in the Maldives — the flight lands directly at the resort without a speedboat connection, meaning arrival to the villa takes approximately 20 minutes from disembarkation. Confirm the departure schedule with the resort before travel, as the private strip operates on a specific timetable.

Question 2

What does the 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive plan include?

Accepted Answer

Ifuru Island operates exclusively on a 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive plan — the Exclusively Yours plan — which runs from the moment of arrival to departure, regardless of checkout time. Inclusions: all meals at 6 dining venues including 2 a la carte restaurants; premium spirits, liqueur, champagne, a wide selection of premium wines, cocktails, mocktails, signature drinks, fresh juices, soft drinks, mineral water, tea and coffee served by the glass in all restaurants and bars; in-villa minibar stocked with homemade cocktails, beers, wines and snacks replenished once daily; complimentary Meet and Greet at Velana International Airport; Coconut Kids Club access; all non-motorised water sports; and access to all resort facilities. In-villa dining is available on a charged basis. Tip: The 24-hour AI plan is one of the most genuinely round-the-clock in the Maldives — unlike resorts where the AI activates at a specific time, Ifuru's plan begins from the moment of arrival, which means early arrivals and guests with late departures get full coverage throughout.

Question 3

Is there a house reef and how is the snorkelling?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The house reef at Ifuru Island is excellent and is accessible directly from the villa beach. seeing turtles, sharks, rays and octopuses on the house reef. The reef is productive and well-stocked — guests walking straight out of their villa rooms to sea life is noted. No reef shoes are required. One specific note: some areas away from the main pool and beach have a few coral bits when entering the water from villa positions — reef shoes are suggested only for those entering from non-standard villa positions. Night snorkelling is available as a charged optional activity. The dive centre provides guided reef access for certified and beginner divers. Tip: Bring a personal snorkel and mask from home if you snorkel regularly — no reef shoes are needed, and the investment in good-fitting personal equipment versus resort hire pays off immediately on a productive reef like Ifuru's, where water time is likely to be frequent.

Question 4

What villa types do guests most frequently choose and praise?

Accepted Answer

147 beach suites and villas across multiple categories, all positioned on the sunset side of the island for uninterrupted sunset views — every room faces west. Sunset Beach Suites: contemporary rooms directly on the beach with ocean views. Sunset Beach Villas: larger standalone units on the beachfront with outdoor spaces and private living areas. Sunset Beach Villas with Pool: the most-requested category among returning guests — beachfront with a private pool and terrace. Family Retreats (launched October 2024): three 20-bedroom Family Retreats and one 32-bedroom Island Reserve (the largest of its kind in the world) — bookable as complete private compounds for groups. Guests staying in the Sunset Beach Villas specifically praise the seamless indoor-outdoor living design that maximises the sunset view from every angle. Morning beach activity is recommended before 10:00 when the beach is largely empty and the light is pleasant for snorkelling. Tip: Request an early morning alarm to use the beach before 10:00 — the beach is at its quietest and most beautiful in the early morning, with fewer people and excellent snorkelling light. Getting up at 07:00 produces a very different beach experience from arriving at 11:00.

Question 5

What are the Social House themed dining nights?

Accepted Answer

In 2024 Ifuru launched the Social House concept — a themed dining experience that rotates nightly through the cuisines of the world's major ocean regions. Each night presents a different cuisine: Indian Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, South China Sea, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and beyond. The Social House is the resort's specialised all-day diner with a theme-night format rather than a standard buffet. Six dining venues in total are available across the resort. Specific dishes praised by guests include lamb rendang, butter chicken and the Spoil Yourself seafood plate. A Pool Pizza Bar provides midday pizza as part of the AI plan. The Palm Grill serves fresh fish and steak. Off-menu requests are accommodated — ordering dishes not on the menu and having them prepared. Tip: Ask the kitchen team for off-menu preparations if a specific dish or dietary preference is not on the menu — the resort has noted that off-menu orders are welcomed, and this flexibility is one of the most appreciated service qualities at Ifuru.

Question 6

What is the skydiving dropzone?

Accepted Answer

Ifuru Island is home to the first permanent skydiving dropzone in the Maldives. Tandem skydives are available over the island and lagoon, providing an aerial view of the Raa Atoll lagoon system from altitude. This is a unique activity not available at any other Maldives resort. The private airport on the island facilitates the skydiving operation. The dropzone produces one of the most extraordinary experiential combinations in island travel: a morning ocean swim with turtles and sharks, followed by an afternoon freefall above the turquoise atoll. Tip: Book the tandem skydive early in the stay through the activity desk — weather and aircraft availability can limit the schedule, and early booking ensures the best chance of completing the jump on a preferred day. The experience is available regardless of prior skydiving experience for tandem jumps.

Question 7

What activities are available beyond skydiving and snorkelling?

Accepted Answer

Included in AI: complimentary non-motorised water sports, Coconut Kids Club and Little Explorers Club access, Infinity Edge Swimming Pool, fitness centre. Charged: scuba diving (PADI dive centre), night snorkelling, Blend luxury yacht charter (Princess 62 yacht for private sea experiences), jet ski, motorised water sports, spa at Xanadu Spa (Thai massage, facials, body scrubs, aromatherapy). The resort has a medical clinic staffed 24 hours with a Resort Doctor. The infinity edge pool has ocean views. A children's pool is separate from the main pool. Evening entertainment and weekly activities are structured and varied. Tip: Book a session on the Blend Princess 62 yacht for a mid-stay private sea experience — the luxury yacht charter is one of the most distinctive non-diving water activities at Ifuru and provides a completely different perspective of the Raa Atoll lagoon system from the open sea.

Question 8

What is the child policy?

Accepted Answer

Children of all ages are welcome. Children below 12 years may share with two adults using existing bedding Baby cots are complimentary and available on request. Guests under 18 can only check in with a parent or official guardian. The Coconut Kids Club and Little Explorers Club provide supervised daily activities. A dedicated children's pool is separate from the main adult infinity pool. The Family Retreats (three 2-bedroom units and one 3-bedroom Island Reserve) are available for group family bookings..

Question 9

How is the Wi-Fi and what practical things should guests know?

Accepted Answer

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort. Raa Atoll is remote and satellite-based connectivity is slower than at Male-proximate resorts. Drones are prohibited across the resort and airspace due to the presence of the private airport and privacy concerns. Cancellations made 15 days or less before arrival result in a 100% charge. Early departures are charged 100% of the room rate and return transfers. A Buddy system is used on the island for guest coordination — the assigned Buddy handles requests and activity bookings via a messaging system. Tip: Introduce yourself to your assigned Buddy immediately on arrival and communicate all preferences and planned activities — the Buddy system works most effectively when the team knows 's interests and priorities from the first day, enabling proactive rather than reactive service.

Question 10

What is the best time of year to visit?

Accepted Answer

Raa Atoll follows the standard Maldives seasonal pattern. The dry northeast monsoon from November to April delivers the most reliable sunshine, calm seas and best visibility. The wet season from May to October brings occasional rain and stronger winds, lower rates and the Hanifaru Bay manta ray season nearby. Raa Atoll is the same atoll as Hanifaru Bay — manta ray excursions are accessible from Ifuru during May to November. Tip: The April to October period offers the best promotional value at Ifuru, with the complimentary transfer, up to 50% villa discount, and Hanifaru Bay manta season potentially overlapping. Check the specific promotional terms at booking to confirm which elements apply to your dates.

Question 11

Is the resort suitable for honeymooners?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ifuru Island offers a Love in Paradise honeymoon package with curated accommodation, intimate dining experiences and dedicated special touches. A complimentary island wedding is available for stays of 7 or more nights from specific promotional periods — confirm current wedding inclusion dates at booking. Sunset-facing villas with private pools are the most-requested honeymoon accommodation. The Social House themed dining nights and the Palm Grill provide varied romantic dinner settings. The skydiving experience is offered as a distinctive shared honeymoon adventure unavailable at any other Maldives resort. Tip: Book the Love in Paradise package directly with the resort and confirm whether the complimentary island wedding is active for your travel dates — this inclusion has been available during specific promotional windows and represents a genuinely significant value addition for couples travelling within those dates.

Question 12

What are the main pros of staying at Ifuru Island Maldives?

Accepted Answer

The only Maldives resort with a private on-island airport: the most convenient arrival in the Maldives — domestic flight lands directly at the resort without a speedboat leg. First permanent skydiving dropzone in the Maldives: tandem freefall above a turquoise Raa Atoll lagoon — exclusive to Ifuru. 24-hour AI plan from arrival to departure: genuinely round-the-clock all-inclusive with no activation-time restrictions. 147 sunset-facing villas: every room faces west for uninterrupted sunset views — a positioning commitment not found at most Maldives resorts. Family Retreats including the world's largest private 32-bedroom Island Reserve: purpose-built group facilities. Hanifaru Bay manta ray access: Raa Atoll location enables manta excursions during May to November. Blend luxury Princess 62 yacht charter: private sea experiences on a named luxury vessel. Medical clinic staffed 24 hours with a Resort Doctor: on-site medical care rarely found at resort scale. Tip: Raa Atoll is remote and the private airstrip, while convenient, operates on a fixed schedule — early departures for international flights may require a very early wake-up and the timetable is set by the resort's aircraft operation rather than by individual guest preference. Confirm the departure schedule at booking.

Question 13

How does Ifuru compare to other Raa Atoll resorts?

Accepted Answer

Raa Atoll has a growing number of luxury resorts. Ifuru's primary differentiators are the private on-island airstrip (unique in the Maldives), the skydiving dropzone (also unique), the sunset-facing positioning of all 147 villas, and the 24-hour AI format. Compared to Cora Cora Maldives (also in Raa Atoll), Ifuru has a more complete family infrastructure with the Kids Club and Family Retreats, while Cora Cora has a stronger a la carte dining identity and the Freedom Coach concierge. Compared to Heritance Aarah, Ifuru has the airport and skydiving as unique features while Heritance Aarah has LEED Gold certification, dive excursions included in the AI, and the IASO Medical Spa. Ifuru's seasonal promotions (up to 50% villa discount, complimentary transfers) can make it the strongest-value resort in the atoll during the promotional window. Tip: Confirm the current promotional offer at booking — Ifuru's seasonal discounts and transfer inclusions are among the most aggressive in Raa Atoll and can substantially change the value comparison against sister-atoll properties that do not offer comparable discounts.
