Question 1

How do I get from the airport?

Accepted Answer

Approximately 45 minutes from Velana International Airport by speedboat. Flight details must be shared at least one day before arrival. Complimentary speedboat transfers are included in certain package rates Tip: Confirm your transfer inclusion at the time of booking, not on arrival — shared transfers have fixed departure times and can leave without unconfirmed guests.

Question 2

Is the resort all-inclusive?

Accepted Answer

Yes. 24-hour Premium All-Inclusive covering all meals, beverages around the clock, non-motorised water sports and resort facilities. Tip: The 24-hour nature of the package means room service and late-night snacks are included — useful for guests arriving on late-night flights.

Question 3

How does surfing work at the resort?

Accepted Answer

Surfing access requires a dedicated surf package booked through a specialist surf travel agent before arrival. Surf passes are not available to purchase at the resort. Standard accommodation rates do not include surfing. The resort is close to well-known surf breaks in North Male Atoll. Tip: Book your surf package through an accredited surf travel agent at least 4-6 weeks before arrival during peak surf season (June-October).

Question 4

What room types are available?

Accepted Answer

215 rooms across garden hideaways, surfside villas, beach villas and overwater villas. Beach villas have direct beach access with open-air bathrooms featuring two showers — one on the sand and one on tiles. Overwater villas have glass-bottom floors, a Jacuzzi, private sun deck and direct lagoon access. Tip: Upgrading to a beachside villa is worth the additional cost — the outdoor bathroom with a sand shower is a standout feature of the room.

Question 5

How is the food?

Accepted Answer

Multiple restaurants with different menus and settings. Food is fresh and well-cooked across all venues. The Beach Grill is well suited to evening dining. The all-inclusive package covers meals at all outlets. Tip: Try a different restaurant each evening — the varied menus make it easy to have a different experience every night.

Question 6

Is there snorkelling?

Accepted Answer

The resort is positioned in North Male Atoll with access to the surrounding lagoon and reef. Reef sharks and turtles are present in the area. Water sports staff can advise on the best snorkelling conditions daily. Tip: Ask the water sports team for the current tide and visibility conditions before heading out — the best snorkelling windows shift by 1-2 hours daily.

Question 7

What is the island like?

Accepted Answer

Hudhuranfushi is one of the larger resort islands in the Maldives with space for a football field, 215 guest rooms and over 400 staff on site. The atmosphere is active and social rather than secluded and intimate. Tip: The large island means some villas are a significant walk from the main pool and restaurants — request a map from reception and choose your villa location based on where you plan to spend most time.

Question 8

What activities are available beyond surfing?

Accepted Answer

Family-friendly. A kids club is on the premises. The large open island allows children to move around freely. The active environment suits families with older children wanting to participate in water sports and activities. Tip: For families with young children, beach villa categories close to the kids club are more practical than overwater villas given the distance to main facilities.

Question 9

Are sun loungers first-come, first-served?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Pool sun beds are not pre-bookable and are allocated on arrival at the pool area. Availability is generally adequate throughout the day. Tip: Arrive at the pool before 9 AM if you want a specific position — the prime shaded and waterfront spots are taken first.

Question 10

What is the beach villa bathroom like?

Accepted Answer

Open-air and set outdoors within a private walled enclosure. Two showers — one directly on the sand and one on a tiled surface. A clothes line is provided for drying swimwear. Tip: The outdoor shower on the sand is one of the most enjoyable features of the beach villa — use it at dawn or after sunset for the full experience.

Question 11

How is the spa?

Accepted Answer

The Chavana Spa offers massage therapies, spa baths and facials. Treatments are bookable directly at the spa on arrival from a dedicated facility on the island. Tip: Evening treatments from 17:00 onwards are the most popular — book on your first morning to secure your preferred slot.

Question 12

What green tax applies?

Accepted Answer

A green tax of USD 12 per person per night applies to all guests aged above 1.9 years. This tax is included in the booking price for adults on standard booking platforms. Tip: The green tax applies per person per night — for families, calculate this into your total budget as it adds up over longer stays.

Question 13

Is the resort suitable for couples?

Accepted Answer

Private butler-service options, candlelit shoreline dining, floating breakfasts and sunset cruises are available. Dedicated romantic packages are bookable in advance or on arrival. Tip: Request the floating breakfast experience at least one day before — it requires advance preparation and cannot be set up on the same morning.

Question 14

How is the Wi-Fi?

Accepted Answer

Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort. The connection supports general use including messaging and browsing. Speed varies by location across the large island. Tip: Overwater villas at the far end of the jetty tend to have weaker signal — if connectivity is important, request a room closer to the main building.

Question 15

What is the child policy?

Accepted Answer

Children of all ages are welcome. Up to 2 children under 11 years stay and eat free when sharing a room with 2 paying adults during the April to September promotional period. Outside this period, standard child rates apply. The Koamas Kids Club is available for children aged 4 to 12 years at no additional charge. No babysitting or nanny service is provided. The kids club does not cater to children under 4 or over 12. For transfers, children aged 2-11 are charged approximately USD 83-88 return (shared speedboat). Children aged 12 and above are charged at adult transfer rates. A green tax of USD 12 per person per night applies to all guests above 1.9 years of age. This is included in the booking price for adults but calculated separately for children. Tip: Book during the April-September period if travelling with children under 11 — the complimentary child stay and dining offer (up to 2 children) provides significant savings on the total trip cost.
